A step in the right direction for Cox finally. Fancy him to stop fielding.

I give Cornish a fair chance of beating Sexton. Sexton wasn't anything special and has been inactive. Cornish has all the physical advantages and could make it an awkward night for Sam. It really is a truly awful British title fight.

Davies v either Hughes or Nurse is interesting. Would rather Davies v Taylor but the other two fights are decent tests.

Would think that would be sensible as he seems to have found his level at SMW .

Fielding should be good enough to batter Cox around.

Hopefully he fights him instead of moving up.

Seems like a lifetime ago that Cox was Commonwealth champ, when he's on song he's a force but he does tend to lose the plot, usually against guys he really should be taking care of

Can't see it mate, always felt fielding was overrated and if Cox has his head sorted could be a quick night for him

I don't particularly rate Fielding, but could be an interesting fight.

Was thinking the same. Fielding has the size advantage and can bang a bit but Cox is probably better in every department. Can see Cox getting in close early and ripping up Fieldings body.

I hope it happens, because Cox has been 'he'll do this and that' for years

Busting up Fielding would be far more impressive than anything he'd accomplished, and it would give all the lofty talk more credibility.

Cox has been hyped for about 10 years on here and I've never seen anything worth getting excited about.

Fielding isn't great, but he's a decent domestic level fighter with good power and I think that will be enough against the bottom-feeder Cox.

I like fielding as a bloke, different calibre of fella compared to the smiths. I'd quite like to see fielding beat on Paul smith, but truthfully I don't massively rate him so I'm not confident he'd pull that off. It'd be an interesting fight though as they used to cross words a fair bit.

As for fielding cox, it's an interesting match up. I feel like cox should win but fielding is more tested

What is it about Cox that makes people rate him so highly?

He's always seemed rubbish to me.

I think he's one of the sparring rumor kings...KOs of Badou Jack, Degale, Eubank Jr., etc

I think boxing talent goes to cox over fielding, although cox has been indisciplined in the past so has probably stunted progression.

Boxing fundamentals and natural power go to cox, size to fielding.

My prediction is as much based on how open and vulnerable fielding looks against his recent opponents who can fire back.

When was the amateur fight? 15 years ago?

Is Cox even that big of a puncher?

It's decent power for the level he fights at, no more I'd say.

I'm not saying the am fight bears relevance to him fighting jack today, just made reference as per your sparring comment etc

He's only got 12 stoppages in 21 wins, and since moving up he's scored 3 stoppages in 5, with his KO victims having 18 stoppage losses between them (8, 7, 3).

Considering the level he's fought at, I wouldn't say there's much evidence of him being a banger, but it's pretty common to see talk of how he'd bash up and halt guys who are far better than anyone he's faced.

I wouldn't say rubbish, but he strikes me as a bit of a domestic hype job.

I remember people being crazy about Kenny Anderson several years ago, but at least he gave Groves a very tough fight.

I've never really rated rocky. He didn't look good against ryder and I thought he lost his last 2 fights tbf. Will b interesting to see cox in with a genuine super middle. I don't think Cox is the monster puncher his made out to b but he will stop fielding if it happens.

Fielding would struggle at the weight if he makes it IMO

Cox by crappy stoppage of a drained shell who moves up in weight immediately after the fight

Think Fielding has reached his ceiling. He's not going to make any noise at LightHeavy. He's fringe euro level at best. Rebrasse was a solid euro level guy and I thought Fielding got away with one the night he fought him.

Jury's obviously still out on Cox even after all these years. Seems as if he's been about forever. If he is good enough and dedicated, keeps the head down etc then Hearn will get him the opportunities that's for sure. Cox v Martin Murray would be a fun fight. Not sure how much Martin has left though. He was crap against the limited Rosado.
