I know very little of the 2, so if this is a mismatch feel free to have a chuckle at my expense

Not a mismatch. Harry was faster but Brown hit hard and was crafty. Simon was past his best at 154lbs, looking back he must have killed himself to make 140-147.
Harry Simon W12
Re: Harry Simon vs Simon Brown at 154
Would've been an absolute war given the engines of both men. You'd think the styles would have blended perfectly.
Brown doesn't always get credit for being a top level fighter. He had a superb reign at welterweight in particular the fights with Tyrone Trice. In those fights he had a superhuman resistance to punishment. Weight drained, his run was cut short by Buddy McGirt but then Brown almost took off Terry Norris' head to punctuate his career (though never looking good again and getting shut out by Norris in the rematch although he has that spectacular and exciting defeat to vince pettway).
Brown a small light middle and Simon a bigger light middle. Does that mean Simon wins necessarily? Simon didn't face many punchers apart from at British level. His one outstanding win was over a master box with a powdered puff punch, Winky Wright.
Let's imagine Brown at 154, if he'd moved up in the prime of his life. Before the weight making knackered him, vs the best version you can think of, of Simon.
