My expert observation

Post by Jip »

As most of you know i totaly was wrong when i predicted the upset in chavez badly beating up canelo

I hope i am right this time. I am changing my prediction that i made in the past. I said spence would ud brook.

Now i say brook ud spence. Why?

I think spence told brook his weakness and kell is going to take advantage of this. When both were having words. Spence told brook "than stay in the middle of the ring and trade shots with me". Spence has okay footwork, okay footspeed, okay overall speed. Brook has very good footwork and very good overall speed. I feel brook is going to fight as a counter luncher and using his footwork to get out of danger. Slow spence will have a hard time dealing with this, cause he only loves punching bags. Thats why he doesnt brook to move, so that he can use his elite power. Expect a ud win for brook.

I think you should stick to your guns on this one. I expect Spence will win. Wouldn't be shocked by a Brook victory though.

I feel much the same mate. I give Spence the slight edge but a Brook win wouldn't shock me. I thought Spence looked a bit nervy today at the face off. Looking forward to seeing how they both look at the weigh in tomorrow.

I'm thinking the best strategy for Spence here is to attack Brook's body early and often to see if coming back down to 147 after a trip to 160 affects his stamina, also it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to touch up that eye that Golovkin did so much damage to. See just how healed it is.

People acting as if this is gonna be an easy coming out party kinda win for Spence though I think have another thing coming, I expect Brook will give him all he can handle in there. Should be a very competitive fight if Brook isn't affected by the weight cut, and it's looking like he's not.

Exactly.

Attack the body with agggressiv shots. Take his stamina away fir later rounds, focus on the eye and tko him around 9. That should be the game plan for spence.

For brook, move a lot frustrate the green experienced jr and make it akward, difficult, stealing rounds.

Brook also needs to stand his ground and get Spence's respect early too to make him leery of just thinking he can do as he wishes with Brook.

Or brook starts the fight with feather fisted punches so that spence doesnt respect his power. So that spence opens up with hard uncontrolled whixh Slaves him open for picture perfect hard counter punches.

It looked like Brook was the one who engaged Spence in the short conversation at the face off - Spence did look a bit uncomfortable as if the pressure is getting to him - Brook looked like the one who is going to win

I feel the same in that Spence should get some body work in early and often.

I favor Brook if he makes proper use of the real astate and stays focused. I feel his shots will get to the mark first and as long as he is moving, I think he can win a decision. Especially with him having the hometown advantage.

I think it's a great fight. Which for me means, I have a fair idea about both guys but don't have a dead cert idea of what will happen. Spence has looked outstanding, he's delivered near executions on the way up. I can't help but favour Spence, but Brook is not to be underrated, he's proven himself and whatever the word on the opponents in the opposite corner, he's done exactly as one would hope for; as for the GGG fight, the after effect is simply unknown and he acquitted himself well enough given the leap, so I'm not laying much on him based on that step up and result.
I'll lean toward Spence to come out on top but, it's a step into the unknown for him and Brook carries more than enough to upset that train of thought favouring the new face.
I'm just looking forward to it.

I'd like Brook to win, but fear getting back to 147lb will leave him drained and lacking in strength and stamina, setting him up for a defeat.

I told you man... That was the dumbest pick ever... Chavez can't box and he can't punch.

For this fight, Brook has a few advantages... His movement, and his jab and straight right from the outside, and also his experience is far greater... But once Spence closes the distance and makes it a war the tide is going to turn... Is that going to happen before 6 rounds are completed??? That's the question. The other question is: once Errol finds the range and starts punishing Brook, will he have the gas to keep attacking Kell for the duration of the fight???

I think he does.. I think Spence is going to turn it up.. WAY up.. Now...I wouldn't be shocked to see Kell control from the outside the whole fight.. That's what makes this fight so damned intriguing. Their strengths complement each other so well that’s it’s going to be a fantastic battle.

Kell can also try to clinch the whole fight. If he survives 12 rounds and doesn't get dropped more than once, we can see another robbery.
