Ok guys.... This is a thread on boxers who you would like to work with or improve.
The boxer can't already be world level but can be British, Commonwealth or European level.
My vote goes to Dave Allen.
The guy is pretty basic... He doesn't have a left jab, he can't box from distance, he can't throw a left hook properly and his footwork is horrendous - plus he uses he face to block punches!
What he does have in abundance is guts and heart, a willingness to mix it inside, a sturdy chin a good powerful straight right and a decent right hook to the body and head.
Could he be world class? After tonight's performance many will say a resounding no - but I think he can.
He has sooo much going for him that 90% of the heavyweights don't have. He can give you a gut-check!
Will he ever be the No1 heavyweight fighter on the planet? Probably not... But I think he can win British, commonwealth & European titles easily with a little work.
Maybe even a world title?
Anyone agree?
If not, who do you guys think is the guy with the most untapped potential out there currently slogging at a level he could clearly rise above if given the right tools?

Re: Boxer Potential
For the record I also thought he won the fight tonight by 2-3rds.
But it was subjective to what you like...
