AJ - wlad seen from a distance

Post by man »

i can't help but think that wlad for this
one fight threw away everything he had
build with emanuel stewart and went
back to his original self.

here is my reasoning. not only did wlad
hardly ever clinch in this fight, he did
not do it when he should have, which
was the last round.

yes, i am a romantic, but i sense beauty
in this, because in the end he showed who
he really was and as well why he hadn't
fought like that in a long time.

Good point. Like you mention he hardly clinched the whole fight but I think the reason he didnt do it when he needed to in the last round was that by then he was so far into slugfest mode that it never even dawned on Wlad to clinch when he needed it most. His ability to recover from the first knockdown and drop Joshua caused him to regress to his old slugfest ways and forget everything Manny taught him. Not the first time we've seen a fighter get hurt and revert to his "old self" by throwing caution to the winds!!
