A lot of this fight will be lost in McGregor/Floyd. However, I think the biggest demographic for conor/Floyd aren't particularly fans of Boxing or MMA. So it might not lose as many buys as we would originally think.

Definitely gonna spend my money on Canelo-GGG. Floyd-McGregor is a joke and a waste of money. I can always watch it later on some stream or replay.

Alvarez v Golovkin Going Mainstream

I’m sorry, this fight could potentially do a million PPV buys in the US, but that cannot possibly be classed as “mainstream” figures.

The uncertainty about the commercial success of the Canelo-GGG fight lays with those casual fight fans that can afford to pay the (minimum) $100 to watch the Mayweather-McGregor farce, as well as the $70 price-tag to see the Mexican share the ring with Golovkin, within a three-week timespan. Some people will be unable to afford to watch both fights.

If the Mayweather-McGregor one-off circus event proves to be a monumentally-disappointing affair, then the only people likely to be willing to pay $70 to watch the Golovkin-Canelo super-fight will be the hard-core boxing fraternity and the Alvarez’s Mexican fan base, which may lead to a disappointing buy rate.

Even the UK mainstream media are buying into the hype surrounding both fights.

Whoever's paying Mayweather and McGregor might start to feel nervous if the numbers don't add up. There is a real feeling beginning to emerge that it's nothing more than a blatant cash grab. McGregor has virtually conceded everything to Floyd except the money.

People can afford it if they have a get-together at their home and everyone who comes contributes money. I know that Twin Peaks restaurant will show it, but they will probably charge a fee. They charged for Alvarez vs. Chavez, but it was highly anticipated even though the fight was not good. I predict they will charge $40 to see Mayweather vs. McGregor and $20 to see Alvarez vs. Golovkin.
