Broner still huge underdog?
Broner still huge underdog?
Most media dogs are putting Broner at around 5-1 underdog against Garcia??
I really can't see that, given Broner has power on tap way into a fight.
Garcia is a great fighter, no doubt, but saying he can avoid a flush combination for 8-12 rounds is a bit optimistic isn't it?
Broner is going to make weight. He knows this fight is very important for his career.
Training went well and he was away from bad influences.
So why such a huge underdog?

Re: Broner still huge underdog?
He's such a huge underdog because most people understand how wide the gap is in between their skill sets. Garcia is far above Broner's level. It's going to be a fun fight for Broner haters.
Re: Broner still huge underdog?
Broner's power is solid, but really nothing special. His lack of output also makes it difficult for him to capitalize on hurting good opposition.
I don't think he should be a major underdog though. In my opinion, after initially being significantly overrated by a fair share of people, he's become a bit underrated.

I hope Broner wins but from the picture of him standing on the podium with street clothes, he looks overweight..

Re: Broner still huge underdog?
Don't know if he will win but at 5/1 had to take Broner
Re: Broner still huge underdog?
I still think he has a punchers chance.
And please don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan.
His show boating, attitude, lifestyle, and inflated self value turns me off like being stuck in a broken down elevator with an over sexed fat chick.
But I still give him a punchers chance more than 5-1

Dont be surprised if Broner comes in overweight and forfeits part of his pay. It wont help his chances of beating Garcia but he might think it could help him.victor-romeo wrote:I hope Broner wins but from the picture of him standing on the podium with street clothes, he looks overweight..
Like many others, I'm hoping Garcia spanks Thug Broner like the proverbial red-headed step-child!!

I had to laugh when Broner said he was going to make weight because of the fines and too many baby mamas.Best Coast wrote:Dont be surprised if Broner comes in overweight and forfeits part of his pay. Apparently it is 7 kids to 6 different Sheila's.
Now the maintenance on that festering bag of promiacurity is some real motivation to do well or end up broke and in court.

I wouldn't bet on broner at 5/1 to make weight, much less win. Can't say I'm excited for this one.

Is interesting people wouldn't take Broner at the prices available but would probably take Linares at that same price. ![[icon_knockout.gif] :KO:](./images/smilies/icon_knockout.gif)

Those odds are ridiculous. I don't think Broner will win, but at that price you have to think about it.

You're just overrating Broner.

Re: Broner still huge underdog?
If Broner trains properly & his the weight the right way he's a slight underdog.
I like Garcia but people have to remember Broner was 'street fighting' Maidana until the end. Garcia don't hit harder than El Chino.
Broner is a fornicating idiot but he's a tough bastard. He's just a f*ck up.
If he does things the right way for this he has a chance, although I'd still have Garcia favourite.

Re: Broner still huge underdog?
That's the thing, there is only one broner. His focus is always the same, he always fights the same. He's quite consistent actually, just like Judah was. Garcia is outside his level, he'll never beat a guy like that. He is very tough, I thought for sure maidana was going to stop him heading into that fight.Taansend wrote:If Broner trains properly & his the weight the right way he's a slight underdog.

Re: Broner still huge underdog?
I'm not acting like that. I have definitely thought about throwing money down on the underdog. But, I have got to give the underdog a chance. I do not give Broner a chance here. Sure, nothing is 100%. But, the odds just aren't enough for me to waste my money.world ranked wrote:Don't act like if you ever bet you wouldn't throw a few dollars on an underdog.Impractical Poster wrote:Think about losing your money a little harder?jockpunk wrote:Those odds are ridiculous.
