Team Rigondeaux on Lomachenko: 'We accept your offer to fight at 130-pounds'

Post by apollo creed »

"We accept your offer to fight at 130-pounds. Best fight the best at any weight and Rigo is the best fighter in the world pound-for-pound. So here you go Team Lomachenko - your bluff has been called. Now it's your turn to either fold or call. And I seem to believe after what Andre Ward did to Egis' other fighter this past weekend, I guarantee they will fold," Bornote said in a statement to BS.com.

Rigo is skilled but he's old. I think Loma would stop him at 130 lbs. Who do you got ?

Loma wins comfortably in my opinion. I think his team should feel very confident if this happens at 130.

Loma pounds Rigo into the ground at 130, but I would turn the TV on to see it.

Wow, this fight has to happen now. It certainly makes sense for both fighters considering no one wants to fight either one of them. I can't think of another fight in history that had this kind of skill level inside the ring. The only problem is that the fight will make peanuts at this point and probably not big enough to go PPV for it. Casual fans do not care about this fight much. This is completely a boxing fans fight for sure.

I pick Lomachenko on points. Rigo´s punching power and accuracy is reason why Loma will think twice. Loma on points in tactical fight winning because of his higher workrate.

Edit: Even if he get defeated, Rigondeaux can go to 126 and easily defeat all top guys before retirement.

Rigo will now demand silly money, preventing the bout from happening

Tend to agree. 130 is a bridge too far for the tiny Cuban.

Klimas told Rigo to contact Arum to get the fight made. Klimas is not a promoter.

I think most are all forgetting Arum has said no way in hell would he even attempt to promote a fight between Rigo and Lomo. He said as much last year or the year before when they were trying to put something together at 126. Arum hates Rigo, and it would kill Arum to lose to Rigo, along with slowing the rise of one of his cash cows

Shouldn't Team Rigondeaux be saying this to Lomachenko? The fact that he said it publicly before actually calling and trying to work something out suggests to me he wants to be able to play the victim when Loma's team doesn't go along with his stupid demands.

I agree as well. Rigo doesn't really want this fight. If it happens, I'll be surprised.

But, Loma would not lose. It's almost guaranteed. The fight would just be a formality.

That depends... Did Lomachenko offer publicly?
