Boxers from Senegal before Siki

does somebody knows news about Senegalese boxers before Siki and practicising before World War I ?

do you hsve any names to start this going. None of the reports I have seen mention any other fighters.

Dear friend,
I'm sorry. I have only a hint in a Italian newspaper of 1911 which reports more or less "there are also some young subjects from French colonies, as Senegal, who would box in Europe". It's all.

it may well be that they are listed as being French so if you were to list the fights for paris for a particular year this will at least give you a start with regard to names.
Then check them on the data base and see what further info is available.

Another possible source would be the French boxing association. Also these guys would most likely been drafted into the army. You may be able to find some information via that route, they had boxing fights arranged as it took the troops minds away from being shot.

The other one would be finding some source in Senegale with regard to boxing, old newspapers, or history.
