Danny Williams set to face Klitschko in December

Danny Williams is set to challenge WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko on December 9.
Klitschko is currently in Athens watching Amir Khan (Jesus, Khan is a superstar) and confirmed to the BBC he was set to defend first against Danny, possibly in Germany, on December 9.

Yes, I would assume so. BBC Radio Five Live have broken the story tonight and may be getting a bit overexcited in the wake of Khan's great win. Who knows?

The Klitschko's now promote themselves...so all they need to do now is sit down with Frank and do a deal (without asking for too much money, options etc).

i hope this comes off i can see Danny beating Klitschko.

I thought Klitschko was very poor against Sanders, seemed open to right hands, i know he trains hard so if that was his best, Danny can beat it

they only promote themselves in the US. For Germany they will work together with Sauerland. But it´s difficult because of the TV contracts. wait and see.

I'll still plump for Vitali to flatten Williams if it's ok with you lot. One win over a totally shot Mike Tyson doesn't completely transfrom Williams from someone who lost to Sprott earlier on in the year (and would have lost last year too were it not for whacking Sprott in the nuts time after time). Oh and a guy who got wiped away by Samil Sam.

Some of you are getting way too carried away with Danny Williams.... I've never seen unjustified hysteria like it....

I'm afraid i fear the old Danny Williams will arrive for this fight and he will get blown out early, Williams deserves his payday and if he can keep it together he can give Klitschko some problems...but i don't think he will. I agree with Goz, Klitschko KO3 Williams.

He should've gone after Holyfield first. He'd have got an easy fight, (if you can call any fight easy that is), got several million for the fight and if he had won would easily be able to whack a couple of million onto his asking price when he got knocked out by Klit.

Do you think Plank Warren will pull out of this match claiming Klit is asking too much money?

Although I doubt this fight will actually happen, I certainly hope it does as Danny should strike whilst the iron is hot, as it were. His confidence should be high and people are talking about him due to his impressive win over the ghost of Tyson, a fight where Danny finally showed us what he can do when his fragile mind and emotions are right.

It would be easy for Danny to miss the boat, people have short memories and if Danny takes a 'lesser' fight and looks poor, people will soon forget about him. That's why I feel it is vital that Danny keeps the momentom going and takes on Vitali Klitschko as soon as possible.

However Vitali Klitschko is a totally different fighter to the 2004 version of Mike Tyson in almost every aspect. First of all Danny will be up against a guy as big and maybe even stonger than himself, for maybe the first time in his career. How will Danny react if Vitali can bully and push him back etc?

Danny has a good chance in this fight, these are to huge guys with KO power and we all know what Heavyweight Boxing can be like. Having said all that if Vitali fights like he did against Lennox Lewis, I feel he will be a little to much for our Danny and stop him in around 8 rounds.

A fight with Klitchenko is definately the best option for Danny right now, the worst thing he could have now is a 'safe' fight where all the pressure will be on him to win and win well.... against Vitali he will be the underdog again and I think that this is what he needs!.... 8)

Williams gets max. 500.000 Euros and a boxing lesson. that´s all. after that he can try again to become british champion for the rest of his career.

he should fight one of the other 3 guys to get a minimum chance.

on the other side i´m not sure if this fight will happen. i didn´t read or hear anything about it.... let´s see.

I don't think Klitchsko is qualified to give him a boxing lesson. A beating, possibly, but a boxing lesson, no.

There was a time (not long ago) when Williams went over the channel and got a boxing lesson by?

Vitali is is one class better than my turkish friend. So why is he not able to give him a boxing lesson?

It depends what Williams turns up against Vitali, if it is the one who turned up against Tyson then I give Danny a good chance to upset Vitali who I don't think is really anything special... Danny has the chin to take Vitalies power and the strength and speed to trouble Vitali.... I can see Williams stopping him..... 8)

Seeing as though the biggest fight of his life, and the biggest career moment of his life was a sucess, i cant see him losing, he has heart, fight.

He had everything in that fight, even a good chin. Danny will be even more focused, i would tip Danny to win...

I see all the Klitscho praise, but look at his record, who has he beat since all this praise? He's only beat Kirk johnson and Fat Sanders, apart from that the rest are laughable...

DANNY will win this fight if he turns up right..!

Klitschko is over-rated and have been no one with outstanding creditibilty for the amount of time he has been in the limelight...

But there are some people getting swept away on a Vitaly tide of delusion too.

You'd think he was Larry Holmes rather than the crude, gutsy and predictable lump he is.
