Danny Williams Update

Post by adamiw »

Just spoke to him.

He's just got back from America, and knows no more about the Vitali fight than we do...but he was glad when he heard about it. He's got a meeting with allegedly this afternoon.

The Maskaev fight is definitely dead. Danny would still like to fight before december (when a Klitschko fight is being pencilled in for).

Danny would have no problem going to Germany to fight Vitali, and despite beating Tyson he's not overly concerned about making a lot of money at the moment, a title shot itself is the most important thing.

Good stuff. It's great that Danny is up for it.

As I said on another post the Klitschkos now promote themselves so fingers crossed that this fight can be made.

Within hours of Khan reaching the Olympic final, Danny Williams is fighting Klitschko and Naz is making a comeback.
Not sure what to make of it.

Williams v Klitschko is possible but I'll believe Naz making a comeback wen I see it. I'd say there's more chance of Hatton fighting Mitchell, Gatti, Mayweather, Cotto and Tszyu back to back next year. Infact I'm waiting for the announcements right now!

Is it definately off. I saw a two sentance "This fight is off, Williams may fight Klitschko." on one website and can't find sight nor sound of it anywhere else.

Ps. I wouldn't worry too much about the Prince returning. He returns a few times a year these days.

Well now he's announced it now, so all the boxing forums will bang on about it for a while, shut up when they realise nothing will happen and the next rumour will start by the end of the year.

saw a program on there called 'ultimate warriors'...did a feature on the Ward-Gatti trilogy, the whole panama lewis thing, and Catley getting beaten in SA by a guy with dodgy hand wraps.
