Vargas makes the 1st defence of his WBC Super Bantamweight title against Rios on the Cotto/Kamegai card this weekend, not the worst 1st defence ive seen, Rios is a solid if unspectacular fighter, ive seen him a couple of times, he was KO'd in 5 by Castellanos but has decision wins over Ramos and Velez so maybe has a slightly better resume than Vargas
I was impressed with Vargas when he beat McDonnell to win the title, uses his legs a lot always moving, great jab/right cross and digs to the body well for a tall guy, I noticed he didn't seem to cope too well with pressure but Gavin never really pressed enough to make a dent, I think Rios will give Vargas a tougher fight than McDonnell did but I see Rios being stopped in the 2nd half

Re: Rey Vargas vs Ronny Rios
I had Vargas winning 116-112, he started off well and finished strong, both men come out swinging bombs but Vargas looked the more polished, Rios had success in the mid to late rounds and even seemed to hurt Vargas with a left but Vargas regrouped well and regained his composure to finish strong

I watched this one Live last night. Solid fight. Your score is fair enough. 116-112 or 117-111 seems about right, I didn't bother scoring it, but Vargas definitely won.
