Joshua-Pulev PPV: Allen vs. Thomas II, Buglioni-Johnson Added

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Lenroy Thomas and Dave Allen will rematch for the Commonwealth Heavyweight title at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday October 28, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

The pair clashed for the strap in Sheffield in May, with Thomas edging out Allen via split decision at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane ground.

The Florida-based Jamaican comes to the UK for an immediate return with the Doncaster fans’ favourite, and the champion expects another great night in a huge stadium show, where he wants to stake his claim for bigger things in 2018.
“I'm looking forward to defending my title against Allen in Cardiff,” said Thomas. “He was a gentleman after the fight and I feel he deserves the rematch.

“As a champion, I have no issue fighting in his backyard again. The 75,000 fans in the stadium can't fight for him.

“It's a pleasure to appear on another Matchroom card, especially with the main event featuring Anthony Joshua defending his World Heavyweight title. It should be another electric night and I'm looking to continue my reign as the Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion. My goal is to crack the top 15 world ratings after this fight and move toward a World title.”

Dave Allen's got a good few months to get in better shape than he's been in since fighting Dillian Whyte. For Whyte and Gavern he was about 235lbs, since then he's been 250lbs or over.

Allen used up his goodwill by consistently coming in fat and fighting poor fights. I hope he gets starched.

Allen's got it made for a guy as limited as he is. All the SKY coverage, immediate rematches, commentary gigs......how often does someone on his level have it so good? It wouldn't surprise me at all if Gary Cornish gave him a boxing lesson.

Looking to be a decent card so far. The Whyte v Chisora rematch would be fantastic if they can sort that.

I imagine Cordina will be on the bill somewhere. Does Eddie have any other Welsh fighters?

Allen is a lucky man imo Eddie hearn has looked after him . Would be nice to see him win and fight for British after .. he has a solid chin and big heart fearless . Hope he really goes all out nutrition fitness etc and takes this chance and does everything right pre fight . to get a rematch when he didn't do much in the first fight and tbh imo doesn't deserve a rematch but he s got a chance hope he wakes up and presses the fight good luck to him ! AJ pulev nothing special a formality.

Top man Lenroy. Good boxing skills for his current level. Remember, this was a not long ago homeless man who worked in KFC last year frying chicken.

I feel that, success in the form of a title for Dave Allen would be peace of mind as much as anything. I think he wants to be respected and loved by more than his fans. I can't begrudge a nice man like him a second chance when utter ba5tards get a lot more opportunity for glory.

Fair play to Eddie, for not dropping him after that loss. I know he sells tickets n' that but, it still feels like loyalty from him.

Apparently they have both been offered a fight with lucas browne but turned that down.

I can see a rematch on the card, i can see Selby on the card too plus a couple of the names from the nxtgen series.

Eddie seems to have distanced himself from Selby - Poxon/ITV tweets a lot about Selby as if he's trying to stay close to him.

When Selby went to Al Haymon and hardly boxed Matchroom were not pleased as they felt they invested a lot in Selby to get him Gradovich and World Title.

He posted picture the other day and he certainly looked in better condition than before - he needs to take the chance as he could to well for himself over next 12-18 months.

Oh. Thats a shame. Selby needs to be out more and on a higher profile thab normal. I bet he is begging a chance at fighting at his national stadium

Right but an improvement I think is visible and that mean he was working harder then he used to.

Despite his losses and laziness I still have a sweet spot for the white rhino. I want him to do well.

Despite tickets only being available for fight pass members today, they are already available for resale at double the price. Surely this card doesn't warrant that at this stage....70,000 is a lot of tickets to sell for an event which (imo) hasn't captured the casuals imagination as of yet.

I'll be amazed if it's not sold out by 3pm tomorrow all 70,000.

AJ is a draw - neutrals love him.

Selby is going to end up with Warrington as Mandatory if he beats Ceylan - maybe Elland Road next summer as FW wouldn't have to fund much with big ticket sales.

Jack Bateson is doing a lot of tickets in Leeds as well now, and his dad is one of the most well known people in the city. Fwank has him on the Josh show, it will sell. Get Quias on as well, maybe Hamed Ghiaz and you're talking a full house.

Heard good things about Ghaz when he turned over , but his team really need to step it up with the opposition 11 fights in & still boxing journeymen , Fonz Alexander last week not ambitious enough for this stage of his career .

He's good, but yes, usually boxes at Elland Road. Bateson will let him box elsewhere when he's ready, he did Danny Reynolds, another of his favourites.
