Frampton signs with....
Frampton' signed with Fr@nk W@rren.

Quite a coup for Warren. I'm quite surprised by it to be honest. I'm not sure what FW has done in the last few years to merit it (Frampton said he wanted a stadium fight in Belfast).

Re: Frampton signs with....
That is a surprise, was sure he'd go with Hearn.
Re: Frampton signs with....
Makes one really good decision to get out of Cyclone.
Then does IFL interview and says it's basically down to wanting big fights / Windsor Park next summer and as much cash as possible.
Then signs with with allegedly.
Lets see if FW pays 1.5m for Santa Cruz at Windsor.

Think most people did - Hearn did say last night on Twitter than he wasn't signing Frampton.Nightmare Roy wrote:That is a surprise, was sure he'd go with Hearn.

Re: Frampton signs with....
Even the announcement of Frampton signing with him is low key.
You can almost guarantee if this had been Hearn there would be a pre announcement announcement, big press conference, date and place of fight etc

Re: Frampton signs with....
Although I thought he would go with Ringstar this makes more sense. BT deal was the thing. He chose to be the biggest fish in a smaller pond on BT then a smaller fish in a largest pond on Sky. He will have more promotional control with Warren then he would have with Hearn.

allegedly knows his stuff
Re: Frampton signs with....
Frampton wouldn't have been short of offers, FW must have offered something good.

He does know his stuff but it's been a long time since he sold out a big arena or had one of his fighters cross over to the general public.billy nelson wrote:allegedly knows his stuff
From memory his last show that sold well (I think just about sold out) was Eubank Jr vs Billy Joe although I'd put a lot of that down to Eubank Jr.

Re: Frampton signs with....
I'd imagine Frampton could fight anyone in Belfast and it would sell out
Re: Frampton signs with....
Agreed, would still love to see a Frampton v Selby contestTerminator666 wrote:I'd imagine Frampton could fight anyone in Belfast and it would sell out
Re: Frampton signs with....
The issue is the SSE hold 6000 - not enough revenue for big names.Terminator666 wrote:I'd imagine Frampton could fight anyone in Belfast and it would sell out
Outdoors would need to be Windsor next June time - but even Selby would still be looking for good money - they offered him for Warrington and they knocked the offer back.
Frampton got 1m usd for Santa Cruz return - would Warren come up with 1.5m to bring LSC to Belfast / I can't see it ?

Warrington-Kiko was the best attended Josh fight yet. 8-10,000. Several times more than Hearn has had in The O2 and The Echo put together recently.maverick23 wrote:He does know his stuff but it's been a long time since he sold out a big arena or had one of his fighters cross over to the general public.billy nelson wrote:allegedly knows his stuff

Carl can now look forward to adding the wbo European title to his trophy cupboard.

More around 10,000 I think.3132DW wrote:The issue is the SSE hold 6000 - not enough revenue for big names.Terminator666 wrote:I'd imagine Frampton could fight anyone in Belfast and it would sell out

I know Fwank isn't popular, but where does the notion he can't pull up the money come from? Bill Ives could buy and sell Barry Hearn! Yes, a few had to wait in the early days of allegedly but do you really think they didn't get paid?
Re: Frampton signs with....
I actually do not know why anyone already successful and with a solid profile would sign with W4rren. Unless a promoter needs an easy voluntary ala Canelo v Smith, W4rren is lacking connections and cannot get any decent fights for his guys. Almost becoming irrelevant. The lack of oomph of this signing is indicative of how the whole outfit is run

Yes, BT are nobodies, can't believe Sky let them bums take all European games off them... I don't have a clue why Floyd brought Davis over for Walsh considering how irrelevant he is! Ives is no contact, either, another bum.tobyh5 wrote:I actually do not know why anyone already successful and with a solid profile would sign with W4rren. And he is really making those contacts and contracts work isn't he? Ton of huge fights all year.mickey1975 wrote:Yes, BT are nobodies, can't believe Sky let them bums take all European games off them... In fact your example proves my point rather than yours potentially. You have the biggest name not just in the sport but in all of sport and maybe the whole entertainment business attached to the promotion and it was all low key and none of my mates where even aware of the fight, who Davies is or even that Floyd was in the country. Copperbox has attendance of 7,000? Wow, really knocking it out of the park there.

I'll have £1,000 on it the Leeds show beats the attendance at the Liverpool one a week earlier?

Re: Frampton signs with....
Of course not, Warrington sells tickets and Hearn has already done the groundwork with him to build the profile.mickey1975 wrote:Are we on, then?tobyh5 wrote:Unlikely, not unless they promise to play Sweet Carolinemickey1975 wrote:I'll have £1,000 on it the Leeds show beats the attendance at the Liverpool one a week earlier?
Re: Frampton signs with....
People actually upset frampton signed with Warren. I just don't get it......there is too many Matchroom FC supporters on here. Frampton will sell out his shows regardless of who his promoter is.
