Yeah tanzio is the worst ever for nicknames, ginger head being one of them.

When asjklsl calls David Haye Daffy Duck is facking annoying as well

I don't know why they bother, it just looks silly to me.

Goofy ones I use sometimes.

Derrick "Loser to the Stars" Chisora

Robert "700 Club" Guerrero

David "Oh No, My Toe" Haye

Danny "Sawft" Garcia

Don't really have an issue with Garcia or Chisora, that's just the way those 2 guys strike me. Chisora can be fun to watch when he's on, but he'll always be Loser to the Stars. No shaking that nickname now.

Maybe I’m just boring, but I dislike any ‘joke’ nickname for a boxer. Just feels disrespectful to me, and I tend to think they are usually only used by the type of fan who will happily dismiss any fighter below world level as a ‘bum’.

Yeah it’s hard to take a guys opinion seriously on haye if they refer to him as Daffy duck

Generally the guys that earn derogatory nicknames from me did more than just not be able to compete at the Elite level of Boxing. There was usually some other low class type thing they did along the way.

Chisora for instance slapped Vitali.

David Haye talked a lot of trash, and then backed out of fights like 4 or 5 times due to injuries.

Robert "700 Club" Guerrero...he went on the 700 Club....nuff said.

Danny "Sawft" Garcia....now this one is unusual as I don't necessarily dislike Danny Garcia, but it is annoying how overly protected he is, and how soft his opposition has been for the most part since Matthysse. The most frustrating thing with Garcia is he is talented enough that he shouldn't be protected the way he is. Rumors are his next opponent though will be Brandon Rios :neutral:

Hitman Jr = Crawford (reminds me of the original)

3G = GGG (just cutting out a syllable)

GingerHead = Canelo (the color of his hair and size of his head. It is not meant to be derogatory. It is less so than The Mexican prima dona)

Lomassiah = obvious

Once Upon A Time = Thurman (more accurate than his own)

Krushedner = Kovalev (thanks to his fans)

SOGgy = Ward (always disliked S.O.G.)

Provoglodyte = Provodnikov (his style)

Mikey

Danny

The Siamese Klit = Vitali and Wlad during their tag team run.

There are others.

No malice intended. I respect their accomplishments and admire their skillsets and gifts.

AJ is pretty crap, I'm sure they could've come up with something more menacing for Joshua. Luckily his first name didn't start with a B

It's all a bit of fun isn't it?
Jarell "The Buffet" Miller
Andre "Son of Groin" Ward. I can't stomach someone who calls themselves son of God.

I think Eddie made it up for him like he did for Katie KT Taylor :roll:
Anyway we got Sir Humblelot MBE for Joshua.

Wasn’t Joshua introduced as ‘The People’s Champion’ or something quite early on?

That’s the one :lol:

Can’t decide if that’s worse than when Froch was about to come out (against Bute?) and the MC announced to the Nottingham crowd that it was “time to meet your hero” :o

I can't be the only one reading this thread and laughing away at some of these, they're so bad and I completely agree they're cringe. People do it with football names as well you just read it and assume the person writing it is about 7 smallwall, Sniverpool, Manure, Spuds, Palarse etc hahaha

When Willie Limond fought Morales he was nicknamed 'hands of steel' for some bizarre reason.
