Gutierrez eye was so bad they had to stop it, was there claret coming out of his ear.
It didn't look good, Mares was very accurate although had moments of looking worn and torn himself and a hint of arm punches to suggest his power down the stretch in a big fight is compromised.

That should've been a TKO win for Mares. I don't know why they read the scorecards as if it an accidental headbutt caused the cut, the cut on Gutierrez was clearly caused by punches.

Gutierrez was game but walked onto so many flush shots, case could have been made for a couple of rounds earlier.
Mares scored all the way through.
When all was said and done I'm glad it was stopped you can't put Gutierrez though that.
