I'm not familiar with either's past weights?
Is that light for Wilder? For his height it seems light.
Can anyone shed some knowledge on this please?

I think it's a little lighter for Wilder. Wilder usually weighs somewhere between 215 and 230 so this is the norm for him.

For the more noteworthy wins on Stiverne's record he weighed 239 or 240 for those fights. He weighed 254 in his last fight, and he looked like sh*t in that fight as well.

He weighed 240 in the 1st Wilder fight, and lost that one too.

All signs point to Wilder winning this time easier than he won the first time.

Thanks for that :TU:
100 kg seems light to me. I'm 6 foot and 98kg and I'm downright sexy, according to the one who gets my wages every week.
Of course I'm not as sexy as this guy:

Looks like Stiverne hasn't been using the 2 year wait between fights to stay in shape. You would think that this being his last chance shot at a title that he would be comming in at the shape of his life?
This bodes badly for the fight tomorrow. I know the weigh in body is not always the same as the fight. But looking at Stiverne, I would guess he dosent want a win as badly as all the talk leading up to this over the last few years..

Stiverne couldn't even beat Chisora or Whyte. Hard to not jump on the conspiracy bandwagon when this pudendum gets a chance and doesn't look like he has one shred of dedication within himself to perform.

It really boils my piss because casuals will take one look at that fight when it's all said and done and say what they say every time a fight of that magnitude is one-sided or boring; "boxing ain't what it used to be".

Nice to see Stiverne taking his gift from the boxing gods so seriously. I hope Wilder doesn't lose a hand sinking it into that belly.

Stiverne is doing this strictly for the paycheck.. A slice goes to the WBC who ranked him.. I think the fatso lays down and collects his check.

what's the point to make a mandatory challenger someone who won by 1-2 points vs Derric Rossy and been knocked down in this fight, a guy that fought last time 2 years ago, a guy that does not even care to came in shape as a mandatory challenger in a WBC heavyweight world championship fight?
at the moment i rank Stiverne around top 50 and i am pretty sure this fight proves it

Purses: Wilder $1.4M, Stiverne $506K

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Stiverne will be receiving a purse of $506,250, which is a good payday for someone who hasn’t fought in 2 years. Stiverne’s last fight was in 2015.

Deontay Wilder will be getting a nice purse of $1.4 million for his title defense.

I wonder who's paying all that, but I can very well understand why Wilder preferes to fight 5 bums instead of any real boxer.

I dissagre. For the #1 HW in America making a title defence it's a pitiful payday. Parker made.more fighting a pre title fight against Takem in New Zealand, a country with a population 1/3 the size of New York state. Haye made more than double that for a side show against Bellew in his maiden HW fight. Joshua was given a watch worth half Wilders payday.

it really is a poor payday for Wilder, I don't know how they have failed to make him a star over there, physically he looks a wrecking machine, a proper athlete, ok his skills are a bit lacking but his ko ratio is just what you want in a heavyweight star, poor promoting for a sellable product

Yeah,, righto mate. But despite his 2 year reign, they are not building his brand. He has to fight in Alabama to get a crowd and is struggling to get TV coverage. In theory he should be earning a minimum of 3 mil and pulling in venues like the MGM Grand or Madison.

And wilder could make 3 times that fighting Whyte in the uk.

Yeh, you'd think with his style, being a knockout artist and all, he should be a decent draw.. GGG isn't even American, but is a much bigger draw than Wilder.. Has sold 20,000 at the Garden, twice.

After he won the WBC title, he should have only made his first defence at home, and then explored Barclays Center straight away, then get back to Vegas.. Even venues that hold 5,000 - 10,000 fans.. But everything has gone the opposite.

There was 12,668 at the Barclays when he fought Szpilka.. Let's see what he does tonight.

Yeah, its too bad Povetkin and Ortiz had to take PEDS to get out of fighting Wilder. I wanted to see those fights.

Stiverne looks like a body double for the Nutty Professor!

Nice to see he isn't taking himself seriously.

If the WBC think he's worthy of shot at their so-called prestigious belt, then they deserve a fat blob of an embarrassment to make the fight a laughing stock.

Povetkin took Meldonium, a cup of coffee has more and better influences, especially if it was 8 months ago at a time it was allowed and very especially if, according to Wada's modern rules, the amount he had left in his body would still be allowed till the day of today. And if Povetkin was planning to cheat, he could easely have accepted the fight earlier, somehow he wasn't planning to, so he didn't.

Sigh 254

In a normal boxers world it’s like failing to make weight.

Hopefully wilder ends this bum early and another fight can be made
