Caccatore (spelling?) has vacated his European title in order to chase up a mandatory challenge for the WBO championship.

Great opportunity for any of these talented British lads to secure a meaningful belt that will cause a significant increase in the rankings and stature.

Go get that belt boys.

Incidently, if Caccatore is successful in obtaining the WBO #1 position and does fight Nelson that will be the 3rd mandatory defence from Nelson in a row. I know Johnny wasn't the most marketable fighter, but this is taking it too extreme - its seems the only fights that can be arranged are the ones that are forced upon him.

Cantatore is not very good, i don't really want to see Nelson fighting him but he would be a perfect style defence for Nelson, along the lines of May and Petkovic etc Cantatore challenged Braithwaite i seem to remember and was stopped in a rather strange finish.

Carl Thompson V Mormeck would be a super fight.

Both landing quality shots and picking up the pace in a gruelling fight

Mormeck's OK, he's just not boxed people of sufficient quality to get to the lofty ranking most people have him. Virgil Hill's been his best opponent and he was well pensionable when those fights were made. That said, he is good and the Thompson that was in the shit against Rothmann could well have been stopped by Mormeck.

For the record, supposing Haye comes through this weekend I'd pick him to beat Mormeck, all things progressing as well as they should, in about a year.

Lol, i think seriously the first time Mormeck lands on Thompson if they fought it would be all over! Mormeck is nothing but persistent, he was being outboxed by Vasiliy Jirov clone Alexander Gurov before Gurov tired and Mormeck landed the heavy shots, he is due to fight Braithwaite soon anyway isn't he? Cannot see any of our Cruisers beating Mormeck, Hobson, Macarinelli, Haye (not yet) no chance, Mormeck is too experienced and strong for any of them.
