Stiverne says he’s coming back, 100% dedicated

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Former WBC heavyweight champion Bermane “B-Ware” has made it official that he’ll be going back to the drawing board and coming back with 100% commitment following his 1st round knockout loss to WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder (39-0, 38 KOs) last Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Stiverne, 39, says it wasn’t his night last Saturday in his rematch with the 6’7” Wilder, but he’s making any excuses for the defeat. The previous time Stiverne lost to Wilder in January 2015, he blamed the defeat on him being dehydrated for the fight. Stiverne said he wasn’t at his best for the fight, and that was the main reason for why he lost.

The excuses didn’t play out well in the boxing world, as the fans saw Stiverne as unwilling to give credit to his opponent Wilder for having lost to him. This time, Stiverne isn’t making excuses, but he’s not been pouring praise over Wilder’s head since the loss. It would have been nice to see Stiverne taking the high road and giving Wilder some credit for his victory.

Here’s what Stiverne had to say about his defeat to Deontay in a poste on his Twitter site:

“To all my Fans, Family, friends, supporters, and my camp.

I want to think you for always rocking with me through the highs and the lows.

Although the fight didn’t turn out in our favor, please know that your dedicated support means a lot to me and I am grateful for it all."

He should retire unless he's going to entertain us by stepping in the ring with someone around his level.

That would be Bermane Stiverne vs. Hughie Fury which would not be entertaining.

Bermaine " Zero Punches Landed " Stiverne claiming he's now 100% dedicated is likely to convince nobody, stick a fork in him he's done.

Needs to retire. His performance was a joke. Seeing that makes me believe Joe Joyce's claim that he bashed him up in sparring before his pro debut.

He'll become a gatekeeper.. He's never going to earn a mandatory spot anywhere.. He can fight the likes of Whyte, Miller, etc.

Maybe AJ should fight Stiverne and show a terrible performance, just to let the Wilder fanboys think Wilder is any good lol.

Any fight with a Fury in is boring as fvck. Stiverne vs Mansour, Stiverne vs Kownacki, that sort of fight. Or Andy Ruiz Jnr.

Why would someone become dedicated after they clearly weren’t dedicated when they had an amazing opportunity to win a heavyweight world title

21st century "dedication" is talking and twittering. I'm quite sure that's what he really meant.

Yes, talk is cheap though, as they say! He’s done

Probably would've been a good idea to try being 100% dedicated from the moment you decided to be a Professional boxer. A bit late for that now. 100% dedication might get him a win over the likes of Breazeale or Mansour or something at this point...but so what?

He looks a bit below the standard required to even beat those guys imo

Yeah probably so, but at least they'd be somewhat interesting matchups.

Exactly

He was #1 contender for a title for 2 years and finally got the chance, after bitching and moaning about it. He stayed inactive and came in flabby. He lost like no one has lost that I can think of.
No one eveneven wanted to see him fight Wilder. After that performance who wants to ever see him again. I don't even think he has the desire or audience to be a gatekeeper. A gatekeeper for what will be the question that has no answer.

At his age now and the amount of work he would need to put in to reach the World level again after that sort of defeat and starting from step 1 as he claims, he should retire now before he risks getting seriously injured.

At best he should aim for the NABF, WBO NABO, WBC united states belts or any around that level and aim to go out on a return high before even thinking of aiming for the world level again.

Maybe vs Mansour, I wouldn't be surprised if Mansour beats him in even less time.

He won't fight again.

He clearly lacks motivation & desire.

Anyone who turns up with man tits & an ample girth to challenge for the so-called HW championship of the world clearly does not have the desire for prize fighting.

He was never dedicated, though I can feel his pain for his purse being less than Wilder was going to pay him to fight Ortiz
