Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
Saunders beat a rookie Eubanks and faces Lemieux next. I rate Lemieux highly but I can see why some don't.
But if Eubank and Lemieux squared off next who do you think would win?

Eubank by wide decision.
Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
Eubank decision
Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
It's a hard one to call right now. If Eubank gets through Groves handily, then for sure Lemieux will get the same. If Groves beats Eubank then I expect Lemieux to do the same.
I feel there is a little too much hype surrounding Eubank. It's hard to justify it until he has fought at the top level and proven himself to be a world beater.

Agree about the hype
Jnr has improved & is a good fighter
But still very flawed, not a great boxer imo

Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
Both fighters failed in their biggest test.
That's why it's interesting

I think groves will win quite handily. He's a better technician and s bigger hitter too.KiwiRider wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 17:48 It's a hard one to call right now. I like Eubank Jnr. He gets a lot of stick from some of the hardcore fans because he's 'unconventional' and the son of a Brit legend.... but he's a good fighter and he's improving. His engine is crazy and he comes to fight! I want him to do well. His dad is a hindrance to him though.

Wide points win CEJ
Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
You're right in what you say about Groves but Eubank is probably mentally stronger and has a better chin and engine. He's gonna put it on Groves for a sustained spell at some point in that fight and I'm not sure if Groves can stand up to that tbh. I see this as a 50/50 fight and no outcome would surprise me but gun to my head, I'd favour Eubank....jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 18:38I think groves will win quite handily. I don't hate any fighter. Always find it weird for boxing fans to hate boxers.Stuarty30 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 18:39 I like Eubank Jnr. Sportsmans bet, groves will win it pretty handily. Jr isnt that good. Groves isn't quite what he was before froch but still a level above.Stuarty30 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 18:43You're right in what you say about Groves but Eubank is probably mentally stronger and has a better chin and engine. I think Lemieux is more unproven compared to the hype. He certainly has never done anything to suggest he is on Groves level.KiwiRider wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 17:48 It's a hard one to call right now. Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
Eubanks I think exposed Saunders limitations. He is a good boxer but he lacks power, and hasn't the stamina for a hard 12 round fight. I think if they fought again Eubanks would nick it against Saunders. Of course a better training regime may make Saunders a much better fighter, he will need to be against lemiueux. Lemiueux is a better boxer than people think, and he has serious one shot power. I've a feeling that Billy is going to come unstuck, but prepared to be proven wrong.
Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
I'd back Eubank on points. Think he'd outwork Lemieux while he was waiting to load up on big shots.
Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
I agree about Lemieux not being on the same level as Groves. What I was trying to express was that if Groves knocked Eubank out, Lemieux would have a good chance at doing the same. Lemieux still carries more power than anyone I can recall Eubank fighting??SaadOffTheDeck wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 19:11I think Lemieux is more unproven compared to the hype. A prime Abraham maybe, but it was a far from prime Abraham that Eubank fought.

Who tested Eubanks chin Stuart?Stuarty30 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 18:43You're right in what you say about Groves but Eubank is probably mentally stronger and has a better chin and engine. I haven't seen all his fights, only the last ten or so
I was under the impression his chin hasn't been tested at the top of the power scale.
Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
Personally I think Lemieux will beat BJS in a few weeks time... wouldn't be surprised if he beat him quite handily too

Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
I don't think he's much more equipped than Abraham to get his shot home. I also don't see Groves stopping Eubank and I thought Eubank edged Saunders who I expect to beat Lemieux. LOL, quite a conundrum sorting this one out.KiwiRider wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 21:11I agree about Lemieux not being on the same level as Groves. Eubank to win on points.
I can't see what the big fuss is about with Lemieux and expect Saunders to win on points when they fight.

Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
dont think theres really that big of a fuss. ppl who go on about him being over hyped think hes more hyped than he is.ppl hardly rate him as a p4p fighter. would prob be doing better in this poll if he was that hyped. a fun but limited fighter.
Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
It's not something I'd bet on tbh because I think it could go either way. I just fancy Eubank to prevail. I can't wait for the fight though. Re: Chris Eubank Jr v David Lemieux
He's not been tagged by a top level puncher as yet but I've seen him take some big digs and he's not flinched. He looks tougher and more solid than Groves, who I think still has an air of fragility around him. I guess we'll find out in February man.KiwiRider wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 21:15Who tested Eubanks chin Stuart?Stuarty30 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 18:43You're right in what you say about Groves but Eubank is probably mentally stronger and has a better chin and engine.
