Former Super Middleweight contender Andy Flute is planning a return to the ring after over three year away, the 34 year old retired after a third round KO loss to David Starie and has since been running the Horse And Jockey pub in Coseley near Wolverhampton.
While Boxing the former amateur had 37 fights and amassed a 22-14-1 (8) record, he travelled to Germany and lasted with both Sven Ottke and Markus Beyer to 6 rounds, losing on points. He also challenged Glenn Catley for the IBF Inter Continental title and among others fought Robin Reid, Mark Delaney, Neville Brown and Nigel Rafferty!
Flute is looking to fight on the undercard of the Young Mutley-Gavin Down Light Welterweight battle at Dudley Town Hall on October 5th.
Flute Eyes Ring Return
Flute's return was left in tatters for anyone interested...he fought Worksop's Simeon Cover but was outpointed 39-37 and dropped in the third round. Flute would probably be best advised to forget a comeback and concentrate on running his pub in Coseley.
