Is Rigondeaux's reputation built from the Nonito Donaire fight ?

The Donaire fight was a landmark moment.
Nonito Donaire at the time was considered high level.

As far as his pro credentials go, the Donaire win is his epic achievement, but he still is reaping lots of respect from his legendary amateur career, even though it has been nearly a decade since he fought as an amateur!!

Some of the luster was knocked off that win when Nicholas Walters punched Donaire non-stop before smashing him into the canvas.

Nonito Donaire has 1 KO loss -- and that's it... but it was a doozy. He got ripped to shreds.

This pretty much sums it up. Donaire's definitely the crown jewel on his Pro ledger as of this moment, but he's mostly living off of his stellar amateur reputation.

If he beats Lomachenko that would surpass the Donaire win as his new greatest Professional achievement.

As big as Donaire was at the time Rigo beat him, and HOW he beat him, I would say it trumps Lomo's biggest win, although I think over-all Loma has a better resume.

Yeah I'd say that's true. Loma's biggest wins are Gary Russell and Nicholas Walters.

Though you could argue that since Walters KO'd Donaire the way he did that Loma doing what he did to Walters trumps Rigo's win...but personally I agree with you that Rigo's win over Donaire was more significant at the time than Loma's win over Walters.

Rigo's resume is fairly thin without the Donaire win though. What's his 2nd best win would you say? Marroquin?

Agbeko is a solid name, but had started his downward slide by the time Rigo got him.
