Heavyweight Truth

They are still bums.
This heavyweight "REVIVAL" is just Wlad getting old.

Joshua, Wilder, Ortiz, Fury and Parker would all be Wlad KO victims.
How can you ignore that, and just salivate over bums?
Makes me think most of you here just desire big men.

Just having big parents shouldn't garner a human more attention.

Heavyweights are bums.
Let's give the cruisers more TV time and attention.

So just because cruiserweights are smaller they should get more attention?

The HW division always has dips and troughs. It's only a dip at the moment, at least it's not a trough

Parker and Ortiz would probably get dropped by a 42 year old Wlad anyway.

Shitt you've got to be toking!!! ... Wladimir couldn't do crap to Bryant Jennings for 12 rounds... Ortiz was KILLING Jennings from the 1st round... He was smoking his ass all the way with right hooks and uppercuts Wlad never threw.

The Heavyweight Division has never been stronger...

You’re not impressed with Ortiz? … A 6’4” X 245lb slick boxing southpaw with murderous power in both hands??? I guess you’re not impressed by the money that May-Mac drew either.

Kalan, there was a time when I found Ortiz exciting as a potential candidate for a belt. But now I would need reconvincing. I feel father time may have got to him. Too old and too inactive.
Thanks for the effort in response to my post, I enjoyed reading that and I do see your point.
As for fart bags getting an inexplicable title shot, Stiverne ring any bells? He didn't even get to hear the first bell

Jenning was the fight everyone saw Wlad as old and vulnerable.
Funny how you pick that one out.

Povetkin is competitive with today's top heavyweights.
Wlad made him look feeble.

All of these guys are just Wlad 2011 KO victims.

Just admit you love you some big men.

I don't think anybody was exactly pretending like this was some great era of Heavyweights or anything so I don't know what all the hubbub is about to begin with.

No, it isn't anything special. The thread on HW prospects confirmed it pretty much.
We have a time when one really great HW retired, one great HW filled his shoes, one HW who thinks he is great but is still unproven, and finally one once great HW who might yet be that again.
It could be worse :maybe:

Dude just called Tyson Fury “once great”.
And they’re many similar opinions.

People think Joshua is good?
He got taken to the limit by a washed up Wlad.

I think that qualifies a hubbub.

It's not a vintage era but we have three belt holders (all undefeated) and an undefeated former champion waiting in the wings. Any combination of these chaps could create decent, competitive fights, and isn't that what we all want to see?

Re: Heavyweight Truth

Whether anybody likes it not the Klitschko's are among the greatest heavyweights we've ever seen.

But now we have Joshua, Wilder, Povetkin and a whole new generation of heavyweights coming up.

Anthony Joshua is the top man right now. He fights regularly and beat the previous top man. The great thing is that he still trying to learn and improve. If he does he will remain on top for as long as he wants to. A modern day Joe Louis no less.

His only serious rival right now might be Deontay Wilder, but that's a fight for later.

I'm impressed Gil. I winced when I read Kiwi's appeal, knowing your feelings toward Fury. I thought it was like a subordinate of Heinrich Himmler asking him for time-off for Yom Kippur :D

Your restraint does you credit.
