What do you guys think of Oscar de la Hoya and who he fought. I feel as if he never ducked anyone and fought the best out there. He record stands as 39 wins with 6 losses. The first fight he lost which was to Felix Trinidad I think he won, I think he won one of the Mosley fights. He had a wicked left hook but would sometimes fade towards the end of fights. He was never knocked out, done by a body shot from Hopkins and bashed up by PacMan.

Losing to great opposition doesn't make you a great.
Well, he has victories over greats also. I'd say, he has lost fights against the most popular of those names. Floyd, Hopkins, Mosley, etc - they are not just top boxers, they have kinda star status.

The 2nd one.
Oscar is a one of the all-time greats. He had a helluva opposition.

Tito - lost
Shane 1 - lost
Shane 2 - lost
BHop - lost
Floyd - lost
Pac - lost
Yes a couple were mighty close on the cards but as someone above said, some of his wins were close too.
I respect his desire to fight the best (when they were fresh) but for me he's half a level below the very very best.
He should've gotten the nod in the Tito and Shane 2 fights. He put up one of the better fights against prime Floyd while he was past it, enough where a rematch was discussed. He has questionable wins over Quartey, Sturn, and Whitaker.
