Can anyone confirm what was said?
Was it the stuff about a certain newspaper?

Re: Ohara Davies
Seems like an overreaction to me, although I didn’t see the original tweet. Pulling Davis from the show just seems way OTT; I can’t imagine he would have said anything deliberately offensive about Hillsborough. We all know The Sun is a load of sh!t, no need to cry about it every time it’s mentioned ffs.

Isn't Tommy Coyle from, like, Hull anyway? Why would he get all snowflake about the Sun?

Tommy isn't bothered about O'Hara. I saw him last night.

Storm in a tea cup. He has no idea what it's all about. He wasn't even born then.
Is the Sun still the number one selling 'newspaper' in the U.K.?

Re: Ohara Davies
It looks like Davis tweeted as a wind-up that his first interview would be with The Sun after beating Coyle. And, erm, that’s it. Absolutely fvcking pathetic to pull him from a show for that.
Re: Ohara Davies
It's definitely going to help ticket sales if Ohara fights in Liverpool againBoxerbeetle wrote: ↑30 Dec 2017, 11:17 It looks like Davis tweeted as a wind-up that his first interview would be with The Sun after beating Coyle. Don't look like it. I'd be surprised if he knew much about it to be honest.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑30 Dec 2017, 11:32I thought he said something about the Hillsborough?Taansend wrote: ↑30 Dec 2017, 11:28It's definitely going to help ticket sales if Ohara fights in Liverpool againBoxerbeetle wrote: ↑30 Dec 2017, 11:17 It looks like Davis tweeted as a wind-up that his first interview would be with The Sun after beating Coyle. Todays world, and people like to make a fuss over things.
Re: Ohara Davies
It's pointless removing him from the Feb 3rd show. OD will simply be moved to a show later in Feb or sometime in March or April.
He's still going to fight and get paid sometime in the early few months of the new year. I realize that Eddie Hearn has to be seen doing something. But this is a bit impotent.

Re: Ohara Davies
Definitely a lack of consistency here.
Didn't Dillian Whyte tell Dereck Chisora that he knew the route in which Del Boy walked his daughter to Primary School every morning. And that he would be waiting for him in the street?
Surely that's more offensive and threatening than Ohara being a bit of an eejit.

Re: Ohara Davies
I’m a scouser, and I can’t say I was offended by either of Davies’ tweets BUT he knew exactly what he was doing when he posted them. He was after a reaction, and he got one, so he can’t really complain.
Man’s a prize c*nt anyway, so I’m not sure why anyone is too bothered!

Re: Ohara Davies
I am parking any opinion on whether it is an overreaction, Hearns motives, should he have been pulled from the card, should Scousers still be this emotional about it etc and want to focus on one thing that drives me mad - anyone saying OD did not know and said it out of ignorance. I expect more intelligence and ability to think things through than that by the people I respect here.
Give me an alternative reason for that being in a taunt. Even one different reason he would say he would beat a guy then give an interview to a newspaper anyway, let alone adding that it is The Sun, his history with Scousers, and him to say "my favourite newspaper The Sun."
I cannot think of any logical reason he would say that unless he knew there was a massive problem up there with the paper.. I can believe he did not understand or grasp quite the level or the depth of ill feeling, but do not try and say it was just a comment and he did not know its connection.

Re: Ohara Davies
Davis addressed that in his statement - he had heard Coyle say he didn’t like The Sun, so assumed it had written something negative about him and tried to use that as a wind-up.tobyh5 wrote: ↑30 Dec 2017, 12:21 I am parking any opinion on whether it is an overreaction, Hearns motives, should he have been pulled from the card, should Scousers still be this emotional about it etc and want to focus on one thing that drives me mad - anyone saying OD did not know and said it out of ignorance. Re: Ohara Davies
But Coyle isn't a Scouser though
Re: Ohara Davies
Fair do. I have enough Scouse mates to know the sentiments.
But does it justify suspending Ohara for joking with a lad from Hull?

Re: Ohara Davies
Tommy wants Curtis. He couldn't care less about OD. He's doing remarkable things for his boys as well. You'd be surprised how nice a guy Coyle is.
