Dann vs Bendell

Any views of this up coming vacant British Middleweight title contest. For me, it shows the standard of the devision that these two are contesting for the title, neither of these guys impress me.

Of the two, I do favour Bendell, however I cannot forget his poor performance against Mike Algoet (who lost heavily to domestic light middles in his career). Dann was completely outclassed by Eastman and hasn't beaten anyone of note.

Dann maybe chinny (both defeats were early KO's). but Bendell isn't a big puncher.

I tendatively go for Bendell on points, but he may stop Dann late.

Any other views, its a good match by the BBBoC and while I think in the current climate its a good vacant title fight - I think whoever wins could rank as one of the worst fighters to have claimed this title.

its a decent fight, number 2 and number 3 in the division so it doesnt get much better!!!!

Bendall was actually training in the peacock last night with the south african dude Durandt!!!

Haven't been impressed at all by Bendall so i'll go for Dann by stoppage. Was able to rock Eastman and thought he was doing ok till he was stopped. The domestic top 5 below Eastman are pick ums though

Well, I have to go for Scott, especially as he lives about 5mins away from me.

I don't know about Scott being chinny: Penn looked a lot bigger than Dann come the fight, and Eastman can punch, but he's certainly not iron-jawed. He can be easy to hit early in the fight, but if he keeps his wits about him and tucks his chin then I can't see Bendall having enough to hurt him.

As for being one of the worst fighters to hold the belt well, Scott can punch and (when he remembers) box very nicely too. The Eastman fight came far too early, at a time when Scott's career was being laughably mishandled (Sanigar seems to have only just realised that there is money to be made down in Plymouth). With just the merest hint of regional bias,

I'd pick him over Farnell, Elcock and the rest of the domestic crop, although that's damning with faint praise if ever I heard it, and I think British/Commenwealth/WBU level is as far as he'll go. Still, that's more than most fighters achieve.

I saw the Eastman fight and was quite impressed with Dann. Never seen Bendall so I'll pick Dann 8)

Dann in Plymouth is a tough proposition for anyone but Bendall can fight and tends to raise his game for the better opponents. Trouble is, he hasn't fought since barely outpointing Kreshnick Qato last November and is also very cut-prone.
Dann has to be favoured.

not sure if Bendall has been training in South Africa, but the change may have improved him.....

Got to go for Dann because I'm biased, although I have to admit I don't see him succeeding at much higher level than this and I think people may be right when they say he looks a little chinny. However he's exciting to watch and usually gives value for money and I think its a shame the're not showing this one on sky because of the football.
