Why Adam J. Pollack stop writting In the Ring Series?

Post by scorpio83 »

If anyone read the In the Ring Series written by Adam J. Pollack, you will know that he wrote the description of the fights from John L. Sullivan to Jack Johnson. I want to ask you is Pollack taking a break from writing another In the Ring Series after Jack Johnson? I enjoy reading his books.

Last I heard he was taking a well-earned break from writing, not sure for how long though. His work as a lawyer and boxing referee would be time-consuming.

The problem he faces is that as he goes through the champions writing (perhaps) the definitive book on each man, he starts to enter the realm of the heavily written about champions.

Next up after Jack Johnson is Jess Willard, there is a very good book written recently on Willard then there follows Jack Dempsey who is one of the most written about fighters of all time, I am imagining that an author needs to really find a heap of new information on these fighters before he can write a book that he would be happy with.

I interviewed him a few times in the past and he said he was going to write them as long as he possibly could, however, he did (also) indicate that Dempsey would probably be an appropriate time to quit.

why does he have to do his series chronocialogicaly?
There have been plenty of biographies and autobiographies
of most of those HW Champions already.
I for one would like to read a detailed biography about the lives of
Jack Sharkey or Max Baer who as far as I know never published an autobiography
or even a biography specifically about themselves.

Both Jack Sharkey and Max Baer have had books published recently on them.
