Shall we give Wes his own Poll Forum?

Post by DSW »

That way he could throw his countless threads worth of daft polls in one place and anyone who wants to go in and have a vote can do so.

So annoying when half the board is made up of fights he has just thought of off the top of his head and banged a thread up about it with a poll on it.

Wes you can be your own hero in your own forum.

All the best man :box:

Poor Wes

Personally I don't mind the polls of upcoming and potential fights. It's a pain in the arse when he changes a thread halfway through it etc... but he does a decent job :TU:

that get quite a lot of votes and replies. :TU:

that place already exists, here. :TU:

I always provide a link of where the potential fight was mentioned. :TU:

Wes seems to think he's doing the forum a great service, but many of us feel that in actual reality, he's just making a mess and putting people off posting.

Half of the threads talking about fights have gone because Wes puts a poll up and keeps changing the title as if it's something official. You click on a thread about a fight, read a few posts and realise it started as something else. Then get ready for any IFL link connected to the fight to be plastered all over it.

It's like posting for dummies and Wes is head of it. Sorry if that is harsh but enough is enough.

Creating a new poll forum would be perfect and perhaps stopping the title changes(perhaps after 5-10 posts in the thread). Maybe limit polls to 1-2 per member each month.

We are losing a lot of good debate and posts because of the thread title changes.

I agree with the post above and have said it numerous times. There is of course merit in many of the polls but not everytime some randomer mentions a match up on twitter and changing thread titles is just a pain in the arse.

The thread changes are an annoyance, but it’s only a small one.

There’s a ‘jump to last post read’ button, that usually solves any problems.

This place would be much better if the ability to change thread titles was restricted to mods. I did raise it on the ‘Suggestions for Boxrec’ thread, but amazingly there was no response.

Dont mind the polls. Enjoy the videos and current news etc.

Hate the thread name changes. Just make a new thread or dont bother making a Vs TBA thread in the first place

When posts titles have been rechanged i have made the effort to inform the poster that it may cause an issue, and have deleted the whole post as it has caused some issues. I dont need to publicly to inform the whole forum of this.

I have had a few conversations with posters and hope they take on board the issues I have raised.

I've made my views clear in the past. Wes has single handedly ruined this forum.

I could go on but simply can't be bothered repeating what has been said before.
