Tyson Fury challenges Anthony Joshua to charity rowing race

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has challenged WBA Super and IBF king Anthony Joshua to a rowing race for charity.

Joshua has previously referred to Fury as "fat", but the self-proclaimed 'Gypsy King' is confident he'll emerge victorious should the pair compete in the gym.

"I challenge AJ, Anthony Joshua, as a sporting challenge for charity of our choices, £1000 sterling the winner of a 2000m Concept 2 rowing challenge. Winner takes all for their choice of charity.

"I would say I'm a better athlete than you, Anthony, and I'm willing to prove it. 2000m, which is the usual distance for a race. Ye and me. One on one. Sport Relief 2018.

"The challenge is out there. The ball's in your court. If you decide to take it, good on you."

Would be funny to see but Joshua will never take this, its the week before his fight, no way will get involved with Fury's games. And rightly so

Exactly this, I think he will accept it, just a few days after that fight.

Assuming this race took place before Sport Relief 2018, it’ll be pretty close to Joshua’s bout against Joseph Parker.

That being said, you’d have to assume that AJ would still be training relatively hard between the 17th & 23rd March and we know for certain that the Brit is known to regularly use the rowing machine pretty intensely in the gym. So there’s no reason why he can’t do this, since it's not an injury prone type of sport to participate in. It’s good for his profile also.

In my mind though, I don’t think it really matters to be honest who wins this race, if it ever happens, because it’ll only be a bit of fun, as part of a charity fundraiser.

Tyson should also try to rope his mates into participating, such as Deontay Wilder, Lucas Browne and Joseph Parker, as well as his cousin, Hughie Fury. They’re all be in the UK around that time. :TU:

Seems like an excellent cause.

Fury really ought to do a bit less jibber jabbering & lot more fighting.

He hasn't fought in getting on for 2.5 years & he still doesn't have a fight in the pipeline.

All the while he is jibber jabbering & not fighting, he's peeing his prime away & when the finally does decide to box for a living, he will find out that he can't fight well anymore.
