Quiz - Which British fighter has fought on the most UK TV Platforms as a Pro.

Post by stujones »

Okay,

Based on the question raised on the Haye Channel 5 thread - which fighter has fought on the most UK TV Platforms as a pro.

Rules - Must be live fights or shown as live (so not just on the bill, must have actually been shown) and it can be a one off or part of being in the Blue Corner. Delayed fights can count.

I'll start with a couple of suggestions.

Carl Froch - BBC (Live), ITV1 (Live), ITV2/4 (Delayed and Live I think), Sky Sports (Live), Sky Box Office (Live), Eurosport (Delayed), Internet PPV (Live), Primetime (Live).

Joe Calzaghe - (ITV1 - Live), Sky Sports (Live), Sky Box Office (Live), BBC (Delayed), Setanta (Live),

Thinking hats on - other platforms in the mix are Dave, Bravo, Premier Sports, FreeSports, allegedly, BTSports, ESPN, The fighting channel - think they showed a couple of Hennessy bills from Canada. There have also been a couple of "local" networks showing fights - such as the one for the North East. Also what platform was the Fish, Chips and Scraps on?

Did Froch not fight on C5 when he was promoted by Hennessy?

No Froch was gone when Hennessy was promoting DeGale in leisure centres on 5.

As noted in another thread -
Dean Francis did the main three free to air platforms.

BBC (at least once vs Barney), ITV (at least once on Khan vs Earl undercard), Channel 5 (vs Bob Ajisafe), can also add Sky Box Office and Sky Sports at least... not sure about Setanta or other platforms.

Wasn't there a channel called Nuts TV or something that also used to show a bit of boxing?

Yes, Nuts TV or Loaded TV or something like that - Showed Skelton vs McDermott is not mistaken.

I remember Nicky Cook headlining on Bravo. Looking at boxrec it must have been against Johny Begue.
