Does anyone give Mike Stewart a chance of causing the upset vs Hatton. The ONLY reason I can see it as a possibility is based on Hatton's last performance and him admitting he is struggling to get up for smaller fights. Stewart is no Harris or Mitchell, but is alot better than Vilches. If Hatton fights like he did against Vilches, the bout could be interesting.

If Hatton is fully motivated, I don't give Stewart much of a chance, Stewart is far from a bad fighter and I think warranted his crack vs Mitchell more so than Magee. So if Hatton is less than 100%, then this could be interesting - because Hatton was less than 100% for his last fight.

Stewart's still only 26, has lost just two of 40 fights, has never been stopped and got in a nice seven-round warm-up in June.
Judging him on the Sharmba Mitchell fight may be a mistake. The shifty, hard-hitting Mitchell made Kostya Tszyu look bad - so could probably make anyone look bad.
Sure, he's got a chance. He's the youngest challenger Hatton has ever fought.

i have a feeling eastman could lose on friday. i had it when spinks beat mayorga and hopkins beat tito. you never know.

Well, Sendra's been fighting while Eastman has been phoning around for a new promoter. It could happen. I doubt it. But it could.

Hatton and Eastman do appear to have all the symptoms for a classic upset.

Not getting the fights or recognition that they feel they should, not as busy as they should be (certainly in Eastman's case), in against a capable opponent....

If Hatton was upset for those reasons it would serve the whole camp right in my opinion.

In boxing (indeed in most sports) you have to strike while the iron is hot, and with the iron metarphorically being the fighter you can't say how long it will be hot for....

No, although Stewart will at least make for an exciting fight. I think that's recognised, and that they're hoping the MEN crowd will at least be satisfied with the show, but if Mitchell could floor Stewart a few times, Hatton has to be fancying his chances.

Stewart is tough enough, but doesn't appear to have the punch to hold off Hatton for too long.
He outpointed Bailey, just after Hatton had blown him away. His record looks good on paper, but it's built on mainly has-beens and never-weres.

Another safe one for Frankies boy.

Does anybody know if Hatton has any more fights planned for this year, i mean he'll have all october to rest, all November to train and maybe take a fight mid december like he did last year against tackie, anybody know if this is gunna happen ?

Eastman will go boxrec number 1 if he wins on friday. hopkins is a light middle because of his weighing in. i know dont ask.

Warren says he likes to make fights where his fighter has at the very least a 50-50 chance of winning, well he's found about an 85-15 here.

I think it's a shocking match, how on earth can you sell Stewart as an opponent when the last time he was over here he barely took a round from Sharmba Mitchell? It is pointless as a spectacle.

October 1st is Friday night pay-day, I'm not sure where I'll be but it won't be at home watching Sky TV that's for sure.

YIP bout right Kil, was there, "ringside" well thats 150 quid for a partially clouded view of the ring cos of the conrer posts and the fornicating cameraman.
Before anyone starts I bought them when Pinto was the opponent!!

Stewart is game but not top level Mitchell could have finished him I think if he had rally wanted to.

In the first six rounds Stewart hit the canvass more times than he hit mitchell.

nuff said.

no intention of going back til he fights a live opponent.

york hall is by far and away the best boxing venue Ive been to, for seeing the fight and the atmosphere. Its a bear pit, electric.

Reading (Rivermead) wasnt bad but still a converted sportshall and the MEN is wicked when Hatton is on, but I refuse to go til we get a proper opponent.

Was massively dissapointed with Wembley last week to be honest.
Too ambitious to fill the arena and it detracted from the atmoshere Im afraid..however it would be to notch if it was ram jam, a london MEN if you like.

Just my take and experience.

J - agreed, York Hall is the best place to watch boxing in the UK. Kelvin Hall Glasgow runs it a close second.
