A glorified sparring session. . . .fixed fight
A glorified sparring session. . . .fixed fight
The judges with horrible scoring and the referee were part of the fix.. . . .The fighters knew what the scam was going into it. . . . everyone gets paid.

I don't know how any of those judges came up with 119-109, regardless of who the winner was.
Re: A glorified sparring session. . . .fixed fight
Everything was in Joshua's favour, but it wasn't fixed.
Cagey performance, made sense.

Re: A glorified sparring session. . . .fixed fight
It was all agreed in advance including the boxers and their corners. . . .all were paid well.. . . .a scam!drunkenpiper36 wrote: ↑31 Mar 2018, 18:57 I don't know how any of those judges came up with 119-109, regardless of who the winner was.
Re: A glorified sparring session. . . .fixed fight
I scored it for Parker, maybe it is because of Parker's surprisingly good performance, but still everything was too wide on the scorecards.
Re: A glorified sparring session. . . .fixed fight
The whole thing about the fight was disgusting. . . .the ref, the judge's scoring, the boxers who agreed in advance not to fight hard. . . all were paid well for this outcome.
Re: A glorified sparring session. . . .fixed fight
119-109 was crazy, definitely. Parker won at least three rounds, so 117-111 (or 116-112) would be the fair score.
Re: A glorified sparring session. . . .fixed fight
If you are right, it is the best paid sparring in the history of boxing.
Re: A glorified sparring session. . . .fixed fight
I couldn't put one fighter over the other. A draw would've been more than fair. Either way, no one won that fight. A rematch would be warranted.

Fixed? Not really. Crap fight? Of course. Canelo/GGG was fixed. AJ clearly won but it was a terrible fight

Joshua deserved the victory, but all of us (boxing fans) expected much more from the both fighters, and the judges have been very bad.

Hmm....
You could also argue that AJ took a no risk policy tonight, and that it was up to Parker to take more chances. Styles make fights but Parker's style changed quite a bit tonight - it was mostly survival mode. I agree the referee did Parker no favours, but I don't think his overprotective antics helped Joshua much either. The judges scores didn't reflect the closeness of the fight, not with so many close rounds, but at least they seemed to be watching the same fight.
This did have a touch of Las Vegas about it, but the fans in the stadium didn't seem to care.
I think we need AJ v Wilder asap - that's enough of the marinating.

What? I don't think you understand boxing off the backfoot well. If it was survival mode, Joshua wouldn't have been so hesitant to throw and Parker wouldn't have been landing some vicious body combinations.Thomastearns wrote: ↑31 Mar 2018, 19:27Hmm....

Why in the hell would the Joshua fans in the stadium care?! FFSThomastearns wrote: ↑31 Mar 2018, 19:27Hmm....

If Joshua would have had the points deducted he should have, it would be an even fight or in Parker's favor.

AJ
JAB: 93 landed out of 270
POWER: 46 of 113 landed
PARKER
JAB: 49 of 316 landed
POWER: 52 of 176 landed
I used to score amateur fights as a profession so good luck with the ‘learn how to score’ crap

Re: A glorified sparring session. . . .fixed fight
Theres no way anyone whos not a Wilder fanboy would see anything other than a wide AJ win.
Parker barely landed anything, if your going on the back foot you still have to outland your opponent, which Parker did not do.
Hilarious ive seen people say on this thread say learn how to score. I scored it 118-111, and that was with looking for what I could give to parker as I didnt want to seem like I was wrongly scoring it too wide.
AJ was far from his best imo but Parker never offered enough of a threat to need to be at his best.. Even parker himself said AJ was just the better fighter on the night and that he needed to go back to the drawing board in the post fight interview

Stay in the amateurs because you're obviously an amateur. Total punch stats mean nothing. You do know fights are scored round-by-round, right? Yeah, we're obviously not related because I don't have any idiots in my family.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑31 Mar 2018, 20:12FYI, we’re not related... Without naming either fighter, it is amazing how some of the fans of each are so protective of their idols!
Re: A glorified sparring session. . . .fixed fight
I just think AJ and Wilder are both vulnerable enough as Champions that if you let it marinate too long you can very well spoil the damn thing because either one of them could lose any of their title defenses in all honesty.Thomastearns wrote: ↑31 Mar 2018, 19:27Hmm....

They both have holes in their game that can be taken advantage of, and each fight that isn't the Superfight jeopardizes the Superfight...that being said each win they get between now and then makes it that much bigger too. So it's definitely a gamble, but I think it's probably as big now as it could get really. I don't think another win for either one of them is gonna make it any bigger at this point. It's at it's boiling point.

Gilgamesh...I just posted exactly that on another thread...do I know you? LMAO!
