wbss batamweight who wins?

Post by Boxing101101 »

so it looks like there is going to be a world boxing super series tournament at bantamweight and with some of the names rumoured It has potential to be just as good as the cruiserweight one.

if the rumoured names are true the line up will look something like this

Ryan Burnett
Zolani tete
Naoya inoue
Jamie mcdonnell
Paul butler
Emanueal rodriquez
Liberto solis
Mark john yap

i havent seen the last 3 rumoerd but if they was in it would make the tournament even better. if this was the line up i would struggle to pick the final let alone a winner. some top fighters in there

The only Latin American fighters are Rodriguez & Solis. If they were NOT included that would essentially be a replay of the Eurocentric Super Middle WBSS. 3 Brits and NO Latin American fighters would just be another travesty.

burnett and mcdonnell are both top 5 fighters at the weight, they should be in easily, its not like putting jamie cox in at 168

id like to see one of the aussie moloney bros in, no aussies were in the previous wbss. one of them instead of butler

inoue and tete are obvious inclusions

rodriguez and solis would be good

maybe raushee warren could move back up to have a us guy

so maybe for me:

burnett
mcdonnell
inoue
tete
maloney
rodriguez
solis
warren

paul butler is facing Rodriquez for the ibf title i think the purse bids were yesterday actually so the winner can go in the tourneyand yh maybe Maloney either way its going to be a great tournament.

so i read all champs will be in and tete, rodriguez, and burnett are confirmed

so i assume well have

rodriguez ibf
burnett wba super
tete wbo
inoue-mcdonnell wba regular winner
oubaali-sapattan wbc winner

looks real good just on its own. not sure about the others, maybe liborio solis, one of the maloney brothers, and jamie mcdonnell if he does well vs inoue. maybe raushee warren could move back to 118, he was supposed to fight mcdonnell but then lost

Inoue beats them all.

Inoue would probably be the favorite, but Tete is right up there and Rodriguez looked tremendous in dismantling an oversized Butler. It's just a shame Inoue is avoiding the Rungvisai fight. It would be a huge fight for the superfly division and boxing in general.

Either way, hopefully this gets US TV coverage unlike the SMW and CW tournaments.

That's at least in part because Europeans dominate the Super Middleweight and Cruiserweight divisions. Not to mention that Americans rarely fight more than twice a year so probably wouldn't agree with having 3 bouts in around 10 months with their opponents being dictated to them.
