What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Mine was the exact scenario that occurred when Pacquiao defeated De La Hoya. as Oscar did not come out for round 9. (However the next two fights for Pacquiao I predicted wins for Hatton and Cotto. over Manny)
Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Glen Johnson over Antonio Tarver in their 1st fight is the biggest one that springs to mind for me.
Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
George Foreman over Joe Frazier...yeah...that's right!
Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
i have a 27-0 record on david price fights..
if you followed him in the ams you knew how vulnerable he was. and at the same time it was clear he was still so offensively gifted that hed blast through guys like sexton and co and look like a beast doing it. but as soon as someone came in who could survive a bit, was crafty, and could get there shots in, thats all it would take.

with big pricey by far the biggest/best prediction was the first thompson fight, after that i thought it was pretty clear what would happen to price, at least certainly after the rematch proved it was no fluke

Coleman Barrett scored me about £1,000 in profit (can't recall the precise figure in pounds and pence) to reach the prizefighter final against Audley Harrison.
Not particularly an underdog in an individual fight, but he was a massive underdog for the entire tournament he participated in.
I think the bet I placed was about £10.

Hatton to stop Tszyu and Pac to stop ODLH. They're the only two I can think of off the top of my head at the moment. A lot more domestically over the years.

Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Pacquiao to stop the weight-drained De La Hoya was a big upset.
I'm not so sure about Hatton-Tszyu though. I predicted that also and I'm sure that a lot of pundits did also. He might not have been betting favourite though, but Ricky wasn't considered a big underdog.

Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Saleta to KO Golota and Aguilera to demolish Maskaev in 1.
Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Shane Mosley over Antonio Margarito. I never got why people thought Margacheato would beat Shane based on their attributes. People were saying Marg would walk through Shane and possibly stop him. Up to that point, Shane was known for having a pretty decent chin and he wasn't a soft hitter.
Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Did you also factor-in that Margarito would get caught with plaster on his handwraps when you made that prediction? Or were you predicting him to lose to Mosley, plaster and all?IKSRTFO wrote: ↑04 Apr 2018, 20:36 Shane Mosley over Antonio Margarito. Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Im sure most pundits in the boxing news were picking Tszyu by stoppage. Unfortunately I never placed any money on either of those predictions but I was confident at the time.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑04 Apr 2018, 20:28Pacquiao to stop the weight-drained De La Hoya was a big upset.

I can't remember how much of an upset this was, but I picked Hopkins to whip Pavlik as well. In hindsight it doesn't seem an upset now but if I remember correctly it was at the time?
Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
I predicted that one as well. I think people just got too carried away with Margaritos win over Cotto at the time. Obviously Cotto had already beaten Mosely as well. That was a brutal finish in that one. Loved it. The last shot as the ref was jumping in was viciousIKSRTFO wrote: ↑04 Apr 2018, 20:36 Shane Mosley over Antonio Margarito. Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Johansson vs Patterson 1.... I had a powerful feeling he'd win after he smashed Eddie Machen.. He had a big right hand..
And just the way Patterson was talking approaching the rematch told me he'd win the rematch.... The weigh-in confirmed it... Patterson was 8 pounds heavier and looked very solid... Johansson looked light and weak.. He didn't look ready.
I took Clay v Liston cuz of Liston's inactivity... Liston fought 3 rounds in the previous 3 years... He didn't look right.
Foremen-Frazier 1... Frazier looked weak, fat, and scared to death.. He looked like a little boy.
Ali-Norton 1... Ali looked fat.. He didn't look ready.. I thought Norton would win all 3 fights, but he lost his focus.
I didn't bet on Tyson vs Douglas... I was a big Tyson fan and had a heavy feeling of dread.. Douglas was too confident.
I was a big Holmes fan and didn't like the Michael Spinks fights... It's one of those nail biters and Larry looked terrible.
I took Holmes vs Mercer and McCall.... I liked him in both fights but McCall beat him.
I liked Forrest vs Mosley in the first fight... I liked Donaire vs Darchinyan.... I liked Hopkins vs Trinidad.... I missed on quite a few bets, but I nailed more than I lost... There's nothing to get you thinking more clearly than losing a bundle of money.

Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
This is kind of lame but my best so far was Browne to KO Chagaev.
Well I have to admit that I picked Browne to KO Whyte too.
I should have rewatched the Whyte vs Joshua fight before making that prediction. I felt pretty stupid afterwards

Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Myself and my mates went to the Audley-Rogan fight and all lumped on Rogan to win at 9/2. He won a 10 round decision 96-95.
Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Another one that was not huge upset but many did predict wrong...
I picked Wangek to beat Estrada

Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
Honestly I have predicted
Watson vs Benn, did not predict the round and really only wanted Watson to win as i did not like Benn at the time.
leonard vs LaLonde predited a round 9 stoppage
Benn vs McClellan . although predicted a a round 9 stoppage for Benn.
Bellew vs Haye Bet Bellew to win and also a bet £100 each on a round 9 and 10 round stoppage
but bet a a lad at work £100 so in the end still lost out.
I was super confident that Bellew would win. Haye was taking the pl$$ out of the fans putting on fixed fights where the other guy went down without being hit and the crowd booed him. Haye was too false for me

Re: What was the biggest upset that you predicted?
I didn't factor in the plasters but did he have plasters when he fought Clottey because Clottey's chin held up well against him and I know Shane was better than Clottey.Lackeos wrote: ↑04 Apr 2018, 21:29Did you also factor-in that Margarito would get caught with plaster on his handwraps when you made that prediction? Cotto did beat Mosley but it wasn't like he dominated Mosley and if my memory is correct, it looked as if Cotto was more weary of Shane's power and willing to box than the other way around.
