Tyson Fury wants to break Joe Louis’ title defence record

Post by Controversial »

Anyone see this video? Three fights a year for 10 years. Wishful thinking I think.

Well he's had a long break like Louis did that's for sure, though Louis was in the US Army at the time while Fury is posting instagram videos during his hiatus.

What a load of old bollocks.

He couldn't even defend his bloody title once!

He will unravel again in short order, I'd not be surprised if he can't hold it together long enough to even challenge for the title.

He couldn't even successfully defend against the David Price's of the world 26 times.

Might be a good idea to make at least 1 title defense before you start talking about breaking one of the longest standing records in sports

First...he'll need a title. Then...he'll need a lot of PED's because longevity is from keeping in shape between bouts, so...not a great strength for Fury. At 29, he's pissing in the wind.

Someone write us a thread the next time Tyson Fury actually has a fight scheduled. Tyson Fury talking isn't thread worthy. All he does anymore is talk. He's about as much of a fighter these days as my mailman.

Good point.

It's hard to break Louis' record when you don't even hold a title.

The amount of Fury threads over the past few months (along with all the polls) have ruined this forum.

If he actually announces a fight then that's worth talking about. Not that I think that matters anyway. He still has to turn up on that date which is 50/50. But an official fight announcement from a promoter is progress.

We’ve been down this road a hundred times over the last few months. Clearly nothing is going to change.

Fury simply enjoys the fine art of spewing verbal diarrhea.

It's apparent that he and Billy Joe are brothers from another mother.

Good comparison! LOL! Difference is that I find Tyson Fury a funny guy, with funny spewing...I don't take him seriously. BJS is a complete fraud.

You contributed massively to most of them! You were like a dog with a bone over the disgraceful UKAD case!

But at least BJS actually steps into the ring a few times a year.

His fight with Murray in June will be his 5th since the last time we saw Fury practice his craft.

I hear you, I'm just comparing their banter and personalities. Fury is just plain nuts and BJS is just plain stupid.

Why hasn’t he fought this year though? Is it because of his weight? Or is it some other reason?

I think Hennessy is fighting against Fury for promotional agreements...Hence he's not signing with Warren until the courts have decided who's right and who's wrong

  :OhYes:

Tyson Fury is D U L L boring!

He just jabbers away on social media & never actually fights.

At his current rate of productivity (assuming he ever actually wins the title back), he'll be 197 years old by the time he makes more defences than Louis did!

Because he is no longer a professional boxer, is my take. I'll be surprised if he fights again.

Has he been cleared to fight? I lose track with all his bans, appeals, hearings and meetings.

If he wanted to fight tomorrow could he? Or is he still waiting on a clearance or something off someone ?

He couldn't, as he doesn't have a licence.

So he’s cleared on the UKAD side of things but not BBBOC?
