Female Boxing - Pro v Am
At this moment in time is the level of pro actually behind the level of ams?
Re: Female Boxing - Pro v Am
Female boxing is awful to watch, am or pro.

Yeah I'd say that's a fair point although I'm not an avid follower of either.leejonesjnr wrote: ↑23 Apr 2018, 09:10 At this moment in time is the level of pro actually behind the level of ams?

One bout was the final - they looked as though they had some training and were looking to box, but looked very novice-y.
If I had just turned the tv over it would look like a couple of 14 year olds with half a dozen bouts between them - but one of them is now the Commonwealth Games Gold medallist !
I would say that any female with any natural sporting ability should look at boxing - because the talent pool is so small, within 12 months they could be on full funding competing in the Olympics!

I think Nicola Adams may have turned pro as she didn’t want to retire and a pro world title is easier to pick up than an Olympic Gold?
