Former world class welterweight Gary Jacobs was caught driving a stolen car earlier this month.
The 38-year-old was spotted driving a Nissan Micra on the A74 near Gretna on September 1. A police officer checked the car's registration and discovered it had been stolen in Glasgow.
The officer observed Jacobs park in a Little Chef car park, where he was joined by another man, and stopped the pair as they drove off.
Last December, Jacobs had been banned from the road for a year for refusing to take a breath test.
He admitted he was a disqualified driver with no insurance.
But Gerard Rogerson, defending, told Carlisle Magistrates Court yesterday Jacobs had nothing to do with the theft of the car.
The ex-boxer was ordered to do 100 hours' community service.
Sad plight of Gary Jacobs continues...
Another boxing related disaster. Gary Jacobs was a genuine world class fighter, let me tell you.

Although he lost a few, it took the likes of Buddy McGirt and Pernell Whitaker to actually outclass him.
