Post by THESURESHOT »

Here in no particular order. Rank ‘em:

Gervonta Davis
Vasyl Lomachenko
Devin Haney
Ryan Garcia
Mikey Garcia (fought at 134 in 2017)

My order
1 - Gervonta
2 - Mikey Garcia
3 - Lomachenko
4 - Ryan Garcia
5 - Devin Haney

Who did I miss?

My order
1 - Gervonta - pure hard punching power. Relentless if he has them hurt
2 - Mikey Garcia - smart, Strong and very tactical could be a tie with Lomachenko. Same description for Lomachenko actually.
3 - Lomachenko - see #2
4 - Ryan Garcia - been fighting since he was eight. Incredibly fast good hard puncher. He’s knocked down lots of guys with one punch.
5 - Devin Haney - again, another incredibly hard puncher.

You've been bamboozled into thinking Davis is better than he actually is. Loma and Garcia would put a whooping on that fool.

1. Lomachenko/Mikey-cream of the crop. 50-50 if they fight one another.
3. Berchelt-best at 130 lbs. at the moment. Deep resume and highly talented.
4. Taylor/Prograis-one has a deeper resume but they're both very good fighters. Hard to separate.
5. Linares/Davis-dudes are good fighters, but I don't think either are p4p-level.

Agree that Loma would handle Davis...but Ryan Garcia at this point in his career is at best a 50/50 shot with Davis right now, probably an underdog more realistically.

hmmmm, I thought haney looked great last night, but how does one watch that and even begin to think that hes an incredibly hard puncher? and plenty of lower level guys took him the distance.

he looks like a very quick, accurate, and skilled boxer, but id say average power at absolute tops so far

Devin Haney is a masterfully quick boxer in the Mayweather mold but one thing he clearly lacks is punching power. Given the fact that he's only 19 if he can learn to go flat-footed every once in a while and 'sit down' on his punches he could develop some punching power, but I dont think he is a naturally hard hitter.
