Since we have some new and returning managers, I'll repost this and add to it:
A champ must defend his title against any fighter in the top 15 not coming off a loss. Having a draw in the previous fight is fine. If nobody is willing to accept that is currently eligible in the top 15, the search for the champion can be expanded out to the 16-25 ranked opponents.
In order to unify, the unifying champions BOTH must have defended that belt successfully three times. A successful defense is anything where a champion retains the title. The only way this rule is not upheld is if two champions meet in one of the various tournaments thru the season. Since we have a ton of top talent, we'll make it where the defenses don't have to be consecutive. Thus if you win the IBF belt, have two successful defense then lose. Later in the season you win the IBF belt again and defend it successfully. You now have 3 successful defenses of that belt and can unify against another champ who is eligible to unify.
As long as a fighter is eligible, minor titles could be unified. If the CW champ was American and wanted to fight for the MGM Grand title, etc. If a minor title holder tries to fight for a major title, they can keep their title if they were to lose. If they were to win, they'd have to forfeit their minor title.
The MGM Grand MUST be fought between any two fighters from the USA and only defended against any fighter from the USA, OUTSIDE of the top 15. An occasional waiver can be made if you are challenging a top 15 fighter to advance your ranking, then the belt isn't on the line. There are no restrictions on a fighter coming off a loss.
The IBO Title MUST be fought between any two fighters OUTSIDE the USA and only defended against any fighter outside the USA, OUTSIDE of the top 15. An occasional waiver can be made if you are challenging a top 15 fighter to advance your ranking, then the belt isn't on the line. There are no restrictions on a fighter coming off a loss.
The CW Title can be fought and defended against any CW. There are no restrictions as to who, as long as they are a CW.
How to defend your title?
Re: How to defend your title?
Or you can willingly and happily hand it over to GBP no questions asked.....and we will defend it for you.
This is our way of giving back to YOU the little guy.
