Your Boxing Nickname
Your Boxing Nickname
What would yours be?
Mine would either be "The Swan" or "Upside Down Ears"

Re: Your Boxing Nickname
Mines "inch" or "inch high" ....after the old cartoon inch high private eye
the lads have called me it for years and it just stuck
Imo all boxers should have a nick name - but you shouldnt get to choose it yourself.

Re: Your Boxing Nickname
Swan is my chosen one but Upside Down Ears is what my mates would choose

Re: Your Boxing Nickname
My nickname would be ‘Y Ofnadwy’, which is the Welsh translation of ‘El Terrible’.
Partly as a homage to Erik Morales who was one of my favourite fighters ever, but it could also function on an ironic level as I would quite literally be a terrible boxer.

The Running Man, so named for my legendary back-pedalling around the ring...

I believe it would be ‘Ee Ov-nad-wee’. Pretty intimidating, I’m sure you’ll agree.Taansend wrote: ↑04 Jun 2018, 15:23What's the phonetic spellingBoxerbeetle wrote: ↑04 Jun 2018, 14:34 My nickname would be ‘Y Ofnadwy’, which is the Welsh translation of ‘El Terrible’.

Give the guy a break, he's ready to crumble
Re: Your Boxing Nickname
It's a type of dive - swan dive.
Taansesnd's as dodgy as f. When Ali was asked how much would it take to get Taansend to take a dive, he said "How much is a cup of coffee?"

Re: Your Boxing Nickname
i really despise the totally bland, stock nicknames that are so common to be meanless. something like michael ' the machine' or so and so 'the hitman'
nicknames should be something where you hardly hear anyone else with it, something where you hear the nickname and you know who it is
although i do have to say i like jam 'bam' amb

The worst are the ones like ‘Saint’ George Groves, which is completely pointless and say nothing at all about a fighter except that he’s English and called George.jamamb wrote: ↑04 Jun 2018, 17:30 i really despise the totally bland, stock nicknames that are so common to be meanless. something like michael ' the machine' or so and so 'the hitman'

Re: Your Boxing Nickname
My old man used to call me geronimo - geronimo jones.
In my younger days - I was gutted that Paul Ingle used the Yorkshire Hunter nickname as my dream was to make it big and call myself that "Hamed Hunter".
Guess me and Naz could still have a fierce contest........ pie eating contest.

Im holding the silver belt in pie eating. I'm just not wearing it at the moment until I put a few more eye holes in. If anyone gets a go at Naz, it's me pal.
