Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Fury was quoted as saying Tony Bellew wouldn’t be considered as a future opponent because he’s too small, and may get hurt.
Surely that statement now holds zero credibility after taking a fight tonight against a man who’s older, smaller and far less proven than Bellew.
So, should Fury Bellew now be seriously considered and called for. A heavyweight is anyone weighing over 200lbs, no?

No rush for fury. Tonights what its all about. Enjoying boxing again. I say another 3 like tonite then go for guys with credibility.
Bellews a potential downfall. A good big man beats a good little man. But a rusty big man could struggle. Last thing fury needs. Its all about timing. I reckon fury can pull it all off,,...but he can't make a mess of the timing. Because someone will end up knocking him out if he does. 6 fights before Joshua. 3 jokes. 3 guys increasing in credibility.
3 like tonite then up the competion. He,ll beat them all. Needs to focus so badly tho. Its sink or swim time.

Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
It SHOULD happen.
And soon.
Fury gets another good weigh-loss fight, Bellew gets his pension fight.
Casuals watch a good scrap with the best trash-talk build-up of all time, while us die-hard fans get fucked over again by a dumbass "event" instead of real championship boxing.
Everyone wins (except us).

If a Bellew fight turns out to be a potential money spinner, it'll happen.

Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
I wouldn't actually mind it even though it is another circus show fight .
To be honest if Fury doesn't cut more weight and sharpen up I can see Bellew winning .
Still don't think his heart is fully in it Tbh .

Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Bellew would be in and out to a points win against last nights Fury. Fully for Fury is a different matter
Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Can't see it happening as who will promote the show and Warren and Hearn egos won't work together.

Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
I think it will happen, it will sell and money talks. My guess next someone like Charr for the WBA regular belt, a defence against Bellew, and then Wilder/Joshua
Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
I'd say, a good match-up. Fury didn't get his full shape back, so he needs someone decent, but not too dangerous. Bellew is exactly this.
Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
It would better than the fight last night.
If he has more like seferi then he won't be ready for the big boys.
He is out in August, make that another circus act, bellew in December, then march April time someone like breazele then end of next year a big fight.
Why should he spend another year fighting people he'd beat weighing 27st.

Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Bellew last night would have won,the whole thing was a complete farce, seemed like there was an agreement between the 2 of them to go a few rounds, have a bit of a laugh, bit like Rocky v Thunderlips scene then quit before he got hurt,it stunk of fix to me.
Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Fight Price. If he wins that fight Bellew.
Win that and he's ready to really push for a Joshua fight.

Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
I don't think it was fixed - you don't need to do that in boxing, you just find a guy poor enough to lose - but the participants did absolutely nothing that would sway your view, if you did think that. at times it looked, well if not rehearsed, kind of like "hey let's not hurt each other" in here. bet Fury now wishes he had opened up and blasted him out of there before he had time to develop an injury in the corner
Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Nothing makes me think that Bellew would have won last night,
Let's have some perspective here

Fury for me showed he still has his jab and movement, he will always have his size.smiling assassin wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 11:12Of course Bellew would of won last night. Seferi is shjt![]()

The Syrian of course was leagues away from Fury, but was competitive in losing to Charr who then won the WBA regular belt.
While these demonstrates the weakness of the division it still shows that Fury is top end even with his time out.

Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Bellew be no good to Tyson
Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Can't see Bellew wanting to work with FW.
If Fury is only 50% of what he was, that's enough to beat Bellew imo.

Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Problem at this stage is that after last night everyone looks a risk for Tyson - but he needs to step up.
It would have been seen as a joke for him to fight someone like Bellew or Price after he beat Klitschko - now we're under the impression that they'd be too risky.

Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Nobody thinks Bellew can do anything.
Re: Fury Bellew - should it happen?
Tempted to think that Bellew might have a chance.........
........especially as Fury sounded less than pin-sharp last night (lots of clowning/gurning again) and the small Balkan boy was several levels below what Bellew can bring to the ring in terms of power, know-how and belief.
But then you have a rethink and a reload........Fury is not going to risk a thing against Bellew, the preparation gets more serious and the extra stone he still needs to shift does gets shifted and the mobility/agility and workrate comes back.
Scathing comments on 5 Live last night but also a recognition that Fury was blowing a pile of cobwebs away that have been gathering since 2015 and this was a bit of a PR outing and an opportunity to be in a prize fight again.
