Nathan Gorman
Nathan Gorman
How do you rate him after his performance against Big Sexy?
Some of his performances have been a bit lackluster; he was looking a lot sharper, and showed a bit of flair, be one worth keeping an eye on, I think he could get to a pretty decent level.

Re: Nathan Gorman
Thought he was excellent last night, great punch variety, ive always been a fan he's getting better with every passing fight and I think he'll get a lot better, he reminds me of Tyson Fury, he's only a baby but he's a mature fighter and always looks relaxed
Gorman vs Dubois would be like Fury vs Joshua lite

Looked great last night , quick hands and feet .
One to watch . Said he would take the Dubois fight .

Re: Nathan Gorman
He'll beat dubois
Re: Nathan Gorman
I thought he looked very impressive, and thought the same in other fights of his that I've seen.
I'd back him to beat Dubois as things stand, but can't see FW being in a hurry to make that one, he's building DD up as a star.

Re: Nathan Gorman
I love his skills. Keeps the distance beautifully, just ion range, great variety of punches, lovely balance.
Looks more like a small town estate agent rather than a heavyweight boxer but I'm a fan![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Re: Nathan Gorman
Lovely boxing skills. Horrendous harline for a 21 year old.
Re: Nathan Gorman
Turner is no world beater but that was an impressive display from Gorman, that uppercut of his is superb.

Re: Nathan Gorman
No need to wait. Whoever loses has plenty of time to learn and recover given their ages, and if both go on to have successful careers the potential for a domestic rematch would be appealing. I'd put him in with Dubois in a heartbeat if I were managing him.
Re: Nathan Gorman
stopppng turner 3 rounds when sean went full 8 vs hrgovcs defo very good
gorman actually has at least 3 wns better then anythng dubos has done. but gorman doesnt resemble aj in appareance so ppl rate him less apparently. gormans pretty much the same age and actually has much less am experence...so maybe more room to develope
stopped solowsi too. one of only a very small number

In this day and age you're right. It's a great example of why the sport has deteriorated and why many fighters fail to develop.Pukka Cheese wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 21:20Frank wont be in any rush to make that fight...punchoutsb wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 18:53No need to wait. I get the feeling Dubois will move to international opponents after the British belt. It's just a feeling mind.punchoutsb wrote: ↑10 Jun 2018, 22:18In this day and age you're right. Re: Nathan Gorman
Gorman is a talented fighter that has been obvious from his pro debut this should get him to european level at least.
The match with Dubois is interesting as it pits a talented boxer against a wrecking ball, such contests can go either way and it would be good to make it after a few more fights for the British title.

Re: Nathan Gorman
my take on it...
Gorman is reasonable. Certainly no world beater. His footwork looks good, his hands are quick. He does not work his jab nearly enough, his conditioning looks suspect (yes i know its not a body building contest).
In my opinion, Dubois would destroy him. Dubois has an immense jab and far superior power to gorman. Dubois posesses decent boxing skills and is a natural 17 stoner.
Gorman is carrying 1.5 stone of excess.

Re: Nathan Gorman
The extra weight isnt pretty on the eye but the added flab doesn't seem to be a hindrance (yet anyway)
Think we will see him trim down as he grows & moves through the levels...
At ~21 years old, with the right strength / conditioning coach & nutritionist he will burn through that puppy fat in no time.

Re: Nathan Gorman
A lot depends on Gorman's defence and durability against a higher level of strength and power, neither of which we've seen tested yet. Lovely offensive skills but that's only half the game.
Re: Nathan Gorman
Would be nice to Dubois actually fight someone with a pulse though to see that. Not guys 2-3 stone lighter and half the size.rhino222 wrote: ↑11 Jun 2018, 07:49 my take on it...

Re: Nathan Gorman
stopping turner and sokolowskis a good start, guys that been the distance vs hrgovic and price
i have very little doubt gorman would bang out the likes of aj carter, dl jones , and donnie palmer too, to show 'immense' power. he already destroyed dave howe just like the great one did, hell even dave allen did it.
the thing about dubois having some great jabs sounds more like sparring talk at this point , maybe he does but hard to tell in his can crushing fights. vs a glass chin like carter even guys other then dubois badly hurt him with a jab.
sokolowski has like 1 or 2 ko in around 20 fights....you know who he brutally kod?

Re: Nathan Gorman
People are going overboard, Turner is very poor indeed. He doesn't throw counters so Gorman could do as he pleased with no fear of a return. Dubois would starch Turner too. Turner could have been decent if he committed to shipping a couple of stone early on in his career. I think Turner vs David Price would be a good next fight. Winnable for Price but also winnable for Turner. It would definitely sell and they are both MTK.
