Re: Chisora vs takam
Very nice pairing! I like both so will be sad to see one of them lose. Takam was cruelly deprived of the notoriety of being the first man to go 12 with AJ, which was a hell of an accomplishment on short notice, and I think his quality skills will probably decide this fight.
Was thinking the other day about how under appreciated Chisora has been. He has this reputation as basically a high calibre journeyman, which I think is completely unfair. He had good rumbles with giant sized champs Tyson Fury (fight I) and Vitali Klitschko (who describes the fight as the hardest of his career) and he also went abroad and gave that giant Viking a good working over, breaking what had been a savage streak of kayoes (over Brewster, Peter and Lyakovich), only to be robbed of the decision. He also when apparently used up beat Dillian Whyte silly, who they are trying to angle into a world title shot.
Chisora has been a world class operator, and has performed better than many 'top 10 contenders' did against the same opponents, which is quite the accomplishment given his crudity and weight fluctuation.

For some reason a draw wouldn't suprise me here.
Re: Chisora vs takam
Sweet.
Del made the mistake of not leaving it all in the ring last time out, hopefully this time he will not hold back.
Both guys are tough and savvy scrappers. Oh goody

Re: Chisora vs takam
I think that and everything about Del is very much the definition of a high calibre journeyman and you described exactly why. Often gives the good boys a good tussle, has a few debatable losses to those guys, falls short in the main, can look less than inspiring against mid level guys but steamroll lower level guys.Tuan_Jim wrote: ↑15 Jun 2018, 06:18 Very nice pairing! Rather than arguing why it is an unfair tag, I think you set out why it is justified.

Wasn't proper short notice though. He was the Sub from a few months out.Tuan_Jim wrote: ↑15 Jun 2018, 06:18 Very nice pairing! I like both so will be sad to see one of them lose. Re: Chisora vs takam
But the myriad world champs and contenders Vitali and Fury bashed up aren't journeymen, but Derek Chisora still is. That makes sense.tobyh5 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2018, 08:20I think that and everything about Del is very much the definition of a high calibre journeyman and you described exactly why. Re: Chisora vs takam
It's got to the point whereby, unless he's up against someone I know he doesn't have a hope of beating, I will not predict an outcome as far as he's concerned.
If you were to look up inconsistent in the dictionary, there'd be a picture of Dereck Chisora's love handles there!
He's so frustrating to follow, because just when you think he's got his act together (like he did against Whyte) he goes & puts in a performance that you wouldn't pay him dog sh!t for (Kabayel).

Could be great, could be a stinker. The card is definitely looking better now. Still not buying though.
Re: Chisora vs takam
Good fight if Del Boy is motivated.
Re: Chisora vs takam
I concur about his flagrant inconsistencies, but I still admire him. He's proof that if you're prepared to fight live opponents and not just seek the walkovers there'll always be paydays for you.
So many fascinating hw fights could have been made (and lots of cash) if other boxers had his attitude.

Re: Chisora vs takam
I like this fight, both rather rough and ready, both need a win out of this to guarantee further decent paydays.
I reckon Chisora edges it, he’ll be motivated for this one...

Re: Chisora vs takam
think del boy is finished think takam might do a job on him, where a younger del boy would of won

You can tell how Chisora will perform by how he acts pre fight.
If he is throwing things around and acting up then he will lose. If he is calm and polite he will win.

Takam wins because he's better, then Chisora followers blame it on lack of motivation.

I expect Takam to win this in a bruising 116-112 type affair.
