Early 90s George Foreman vs. 1997 David Tua.

How would comeback Foreman do against a prime Tua? It would have been a fun fight between 2 hard-punching, granite-chinned HWs.

Well, if the Foreman of 1992 could eat Tommy Morrison's left hooks for 12 rounds, I don't see why he couldn't take Tua's shots for 12. I do think Foreman's height, reach and weight would have been a bit much for Tua, winning a close decision. After all Tua was only 5'9" or so, and Foreman fought a similar opponent in Dwight Qawi in his comeback, and beat him by knockout.

I could easily see this one being a draw. Tua always had a granite chin in his own right, and I think he'd take Foreman's shots. He'd probably get outworked by Tua for long stretches, but his greater height and reach would allow him to control the slower portions of the bout with his jab, and keeping things at a distance.

So a draw or a narrow Tua decision is what I'd be leaning toward.

Foreman's too clever for Tua. I think he'd feed the little Samoan the telephone pole jab and roll with the worst of what came back. And the power Foreman still had circa 1990 is more than sufficient to tame Tua--this is when he was putting Bigfoot Martin down with one single headshot; pretty much unheard of in Bigfoot's career. I could also see those roundhouse body shots troubling Tua, the same way Lennox bothered him to the body and seemed to put him in his shell. I don't think Tua can hit him any harder than roided up powerhouse Tommy Morrison hit him. So no come-from-behind-KOs this time.

A rare pairing that I've never seen in a fantasy thread. Well done!

Both were fearsome punchers, both had granite chins. There would be no KO for sure. Foreman was more ingenious even being old. I give George a slight advantage.
