Late round comebacks

Post by Ambling Alp II »

Thought this would fun.
One exciting aspect of boxing is that there is always an outside chance that a losing fighter will come back to win by late stoppage.
Lets make a list of those fights. Let's say the fight had to be in the 10th round or later when the losing fighter came back to win by stppage.

I will start with a few:
LaMotta-Dauthille
Tate-Weaver
Chavez-Taylor
Foreman-Moorer

Lets here some more.

Fitzsimmons - Corbett (14 KO) -- Ftiz was cut in the fourth and down for a nine count in the sixth. By the 13th round Ruby Robert had a nose full of blood and was tiring; in the 14th the usually defensive minded Corbett saw his opportunity and tried to moved-in.

Fitzsimmons: "Corbett gave me the hardest fight I ever had in my life. and I want to tell you he is a good hard, stiff puncher."

donaire - darch 2 was painful for me, had a flutter on darch at some good odds and god damn it really looked like he was going to do it. aside from being rocked early he really dominated most of that fight and was well ahead on 2 cards going into that 9th round

Corbett was so close to pulling this off. Had he done so he probably would rated much higher today.

Bell actually lasted the distance. I think Robinson was ahead on points in the Levine fight.
