Why?clearly your saying basically if he wins he would beat Haye. If he loses he wouldn't beat Haye.tiny_acres wrote: ↑13 Jul 2018, 17:04 I'm going to wait until Usyk' s next fight to determine my prediction

Not at all. I'm saying I'd like to see how he handles Gassiev. I'm impressed with Usyk just not to the point that some on here are.world ranked wrote: ↑13 Jul 2018, 19:21Why?clearly your saying basically if he wins he would beat Haye. I do not think he is 100% guaranteed to even win his next bout.
Though I favor Usyk tremendously in his upcoming fight. I'm not sure he's the best or second vest cruiserweight of all time.
Let's see how this fight plays out

So if he loses obivously he's not #1 or #2 cruserweight ever so it seems where basically saying it all depends on ONE fight?tiny_acres wrote: ↑13 Jul 2018, 19:31Not at all. Also, lets say this fight doesn't happen where do you rank him prior to this fight?

I honestly do not rank active fighters on an all time great list until either they retire or leave that division.world ranked wrote: ↑13 Jul 2018, 19:35So if he loses obivously he's not #1 or #2 cruserweight ever so it seems where basically saying it all depends on ONE fight?tiny_acres wrote: ↑13 Jul 2018, 19:31Not at all. Where do you rate him and how do you see a hypothetical fight with a prime Haye
Re: Haye (2008) vs. Usyk (2018) ?
haye was really good but his cw career is seriously over glorified. no longevity at the top. top 3 wins include enzo and fragomeni. struggled mightly vs mormeck, thompson, and mock, and also struggled with fragomeni. was not quite the dominant monster a lot depict
but he did have top speed and power, usyk couldnt afford to get overly gung ho and sloppy like he was at times vs briedes

Re: Haye (2008) vs. Usyk (2018) ?
Difficult to predict. Usyk isn't godly against guys his size or smaller. He excels against slower, bigger HW's.
Not sure why anyone would need to see him against Gassiev. Briedis is stylistically closer to Haye than Gassiev, and honestly, I think Briedis is the second best CW even now.
I'd say Usyk in a close fight. It'd be a different fight at HW for sure. Usyk would school the HW version of Haye.

I think he would beat Haye but alike you. I think the winner of this fight becomes my #2 cruserweight of all time. He's top 5 prior to this fight.tiny_acres wrote: ↑13 Jul 2018, 20:09I honestly do not rank active fighters on an all time great list until either they retire or leave that division.world ranked wrote: ↑13 Jul 2018, 19:35So if he loses obivously he's not #1 or #2 cruserweight ever so it seems where basically saying it all depends on ONE fight?tiny_acres wrote: ↑13 Jul 2018, 19:31

Haye beats Usyk.
Those favouring Usyk are predominantly Eastern Europeans whose bias compels them to almost exclusively support fighters from the same geographical region.
If anyone feels that I'm wrong about my theory of Usyk's supporters being blindly-biased, should check the posting history of those people that has posted pro-Usyk comments to this thread before challenging me.

I'm not a supporter of any one fighter. I'm not even really a fan of a fighter. There really no fact in debating a prime past era fight. That's a debate not worth fighting. I know the winner of this fight resume is pretty comparable to Haye.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑14 Jul 2018, 13:39 Haye beats Usyk.

Well I'm British as you know but I lean toward Usyk on this. Haye was a very fine cruiserweight and a bigger puncher than Usyk and I suspect faster. Usyk is a master of defense though and I think he'd find a way to win by decision. The only thing I can be certain about though is that this would be a very tough fight for both boxers.
Re: Haye (2008) vs. Usyk (2018) ?
right now theres only a few outright usyk predictions in this thread for a cruiser fight (one after your post), , one of which says it would be really hard to predict and another saying itd be very tough for usyk. and pretty sure that world ranked for example isnt an east euro fan boy.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑14 Jul 2018, 13:39 Haye beats Usyk.

just curious though, what puts a cruiser haye so obviously far above usyk, to the point where only east euro fan boys would pick usyk? not like hayes resume was way better there (imo usyks will be superior if he beats gass) and he did have problems in a number of fights
im no east euro fan boy but i can understand a pick for usyk, though id prob still lean haye slightly
