They both weren't very ingenious boxers, but were both tough. If not McCall's chin, I would have said, that Ruddock would have knocked him out, cause, I guess, when such kind of fighters meet, the one, who delivers a punch better, has real chances to win by a KO. Ruddock definitely could score some vicious punches, not to forget about his trademark hybrid hook. It could be effective anywhere, but probably not here. It would have been a close fight and I believe, Ruddock would have been able to take the decision.
