Wasnt he way way (seemingly) behind Peynaud in their first fight before pulling off a miraculous rally and getting a gift decision. Asking because I see he's a -2000 favorite in the rematch after arguably losing the first fight.

Yeah 10/1 best price on Paynaud at the mo. Expect that will drift a touch more with a fair bit of money going on Benn KO as the week goes on.

Also how many rounds is this over? Surely Benn will step it up to 8 rounds soon.

Wouldn’t say it was a gift - his knockdowns pulled it close but it wasn’t a robbery.

I've watched it twice.
The decision made me have a second look- given all the hype around Benn.
First watch I had Benn losing by two. He was dominated early on and in a world of trouble. The Frenchie faded due to a lack of prep.
Second watch I still gave it to Paynard by 1. So not a robbery, but Benn didn't do enough to win, maybe draw or split draw at best.
Benn came back late due to superior fitness more than any superiority in boxing. And this was against an opponent put in to be beaten.
All in all it shattered my opinion of Benn being a prospect at this time.
He is still young and has a lot of room for improvement. I'm interested in how Paynard does this time with a full camp.

I haven't rewatched it but at the time I had the Frenchman winning by 1/2 points. You just knew he wasn't getting the nod though....

Yeah, I got that feeling too. So I rewatched it to see where Benn was really at. He sort of did a Eubank Jr, he use superior fitness more than superior boxing.

The first fight was an absolute war, which was a pleasant surprise given the mismatches we usually have to sit through on undercards.

But I can't see it being as good this time around, both men kbow the other can hurt them and will look to box a bit more.

Neither look particularly skilled in that department, but if it goes to the cards we all know who will get the nod....

I don't think boxing fans overrate him, I do think he has a hype machine surrounding him.
He has 3 things going for him right now;
1, His age
2, His dedication to fitness.
3, Self belief.

How that equates into his future career, we will have to see.

Why so sure he will win no problem? He certainly had problems the first time these met in the ring

Peynaud is coming off a win so im guessing he will be up for this fight. I think I favour Benn for a win purely because the guy has excellent work ethic. While Benn is nothing at present you cant knock the kid for his dedication to training and fitness. Its not a guaranteed win for Benn so I dont think he will have it all his own way on Saturday night. It wouldnt surprise me if Peynaud gets a points win this time around but I just have a sneeky feeling Conor will stop him.

Peynaud only got a week and a half notice for that fight so with a full camp its worth a large bet, No way Benn won the first fight and if anything with Peynaud being fitter will make him a clearer winner.

It was a good fight last time mate but the 'result' left a sour taste for me, I hope we get a fair decision this time. I guess a positive Peynaud can take from the first fight is that he's gonna get paid more now and has had more notice.

I'm not going to suggest people fix fights but if he has been paid handsomely he very well might know what is expected.

It's going to be interesting can't wait to see the fight and make my own mind up.

I firmly believe that this will be a 2nd or 3rd round blow out, so that we can all be fed the Conor Benn story for another year or two. Peynaud will know the score, this will be his biggest payday by far and even if he wins it wont advance his career, he'll take the money
