Chisora please retire

Post by Andrew »

Was out last night but caught the boxing.

Couldn't believe how this fight ended. After that first round I thought Del was done. I felt the same on a few occasions.

This is now Dels chance to leave boxing on a high because he won't get another one.

What's he going to do now ? The Whyte rematch won't happen, and Dillian would knock him out now. He won't fight Joyce either.

I can see Chisora talking his way to a title shot. A fight with AJ would fill Wembley and sort Chisora out for life.

One fight that would actually be decent would be Miller v Chisora.

Guaranteed mayhem at the press conference for that.

Miller would beat him up though and I don't think Miller is all that.

Chisora will box on for 2-3 years yet.
Is he actually contracted to Matchroom or is he fight by fight?
Whyte didn’t sound like he wanted a rematch and I don’t see a Joshua fight happening.
Wilder will be up for Chisora.

It wouldn’t fill Wembley. They’re struggling to fill it for Povetkin (they’ve done about 65k so far which is great but slower than his other stadium fights).

I wouldn't mind if he did decide to do that, but I won't complain if he has another couple if he turns up motivated.

He’d be crazy to retire after his biggest win.

He’s tough as old boots so can have another one good payday. I understand he has a few quid already and is quite savvy with his dough but he deserves another big fight imo.

He arguably beat Whyte and has just iced Takam.

40s/60s/80s still available plus 400s/800s/2ks.

They’ll sell a few more off the back of last nights show and once undercard fighters are announced that will probably shift another few thousand but it wouldn’t surprise me if this falls short of a sellout.

Will still be an amazing attendance though!

Dereck just fought his way to an AJ title challenge. No way he retires now.

He definitely has something left. Of course, he has no championship ambitions, but can make a good fight against some guys from top-20 or so.

Whyte - Chisora 2 is now an inevitable PPV if Wilder signs to fight Joshua isn't it?

I remember there fight I thought DC had done enough, if either had been fit they would of knocked the other out, they where both blowing early, both landed some great shots and made a very very good fight. DW has come on a lot and the fitness is much better but you can never rule out DC if the right one turns up he is a serious opponent for anyone :box:

Chisora looked buzzed a few times but dug in and pulled out arguably his best win to date.

Yes please retire, you only have a world title shot on the horizon, and a least a big payday.

Absolutely no chance what so ever that rematch happens.

Whyte priced himself out when it made the most sense to make it.

It pains me to say it but Whyte also rightfully deserves a world title fight as well.

Seriously we have people wanting to see Chisora vs Joshua. And thinking it will happen. That's a 2-3 round job.

Absolutely no way Wilder fights him either. Wilder was offered silly money to fight Whyte which he rejected. He confirmed the figure himself so it was a legitimate offer.

I dunno about that. He might only be another win, maybe two, away from another title shot. Things can turn around quickly in boxing.

Others have earned a shot for doing a lot less

Too right!
Del ain't old, when he turns it up he is a top ten HW. Takem ain't no pushover, it was a wonderful win.

I know Eddie has to promote Wilder vs Joshua as for all the belts, but if I was Chisora the new WBA International champion. I would be kicking and scream at Matchroom to secure him the Charr vs Oquendo winner. Its a step down from Takam and I think it would be a really good platform for those really looking at a world title fight from the UK.

If Chisora won the WBA title - then I think there could be intriguing contests for a world title of sort.... yes not a proper champion, but that aint stopped anyone calling Rocky from Stocky a proper champ.

Chisora vs H Fury, Chisora vs Bellew would be two decent shouts. If Whyte fights and loses to Wilder - then Chisora vs Whyte 2 would still work.... who knows perhaps even Chisora vs Haye 2.

They could even still get Chisora vs Joyce but imagine what a job Haye could do if Joyce won the WBA title in what would probably be his 5th or 6th fight.

Eddie's plan was for Miller to get that belt then fight and lose to Joshua, finally eliminating that regular belt in the process too hopefully... Miller is a pariah now though after his comments so that plan might change.

Chisora will be fed to miller but I think the better fight is Parker in NZ as will be bigger pay day for del. if he fights anyone except AJ or Whyte rematch then its a under card fight.
I think chisora vs Parker would be a good fight and give del a good payday and less damage.

Unless he fights miller on DAZN, then it will be main event to fill the slots. Eddie must be sporting a raging semi with his heavyweight options lol
