Adam Kownacki

Post by Ilya Muromets »

What's up with him? He hasn't fought since January, and on top of his Boxrec page it says he's been suspended indefinitely by the NY State athletic commission. Why?

Lots of boxers have those minor suspensions and they generally don't stop anything. He is supposedly fighting Charles Martin on the Danny Garcia v Shawn Porter card on September 8th at Barclays Center, New York. Maybe the NY State Athletic Commission is holding up the official announcement or something? The NY commission is pretty strict and his last fight was in NY so maybe they're just being extra careful about something.

You’re absolutely right. Case in point: Danny Garcia is currently suspended by the NSAC because of fractures on both of his hands. It won’t be lifted until he proves his fitness by getting an orthopaedic doctor to clear him.

Adam is going to make Charles Martin retire.
Charles "I walk this earth like a tomato can" Martin will face off against Kownacki September 8th on the Porter Garcia undercard.
10 rounds or less for Adam to beat Martin into retirement :box:

I have my eye on Kownacki. I think he's very good. But I still don't know why he was "indefinitely suspended". The example given above was suspended until his injury is cleared by a doctor. OK, there must be a reason for a suspension. But what was his? Where did Boxrec get that suspension info? They should also include the reason. I can find no reference to it elsewhere.

You behave yourself :shame:
He isn't obese, he's just a bit pudgy, it helps absorb shots :-P
Kownacki has a deceptive workrate compared to a few of the current #20 guys. I definitely rate him above Charles Martin!
